H.R. 1, a massive voting rights/election security/campaign finance/ethics bill now making its way through the House of Representatives, would make "significant changes to the operation of federal elections by states," according to a summary produced by the Congressional Budget Office.
The bill does not allow 16-year-olds to vote, but Democrats are offering amendments that would do just that.
Reps. Ayanna Pressley (D-Mass.) and Grace Meng (D-N.Y.) introduced their amendments Tuesday night before the House Rules Committee. Both lawmakers pointed to the activism of young gun control advocates as one of the reasons for lowering the voting age:

If the damned fools hadn’t killed most of their babies for the last 45 years, they wouldn’t be so short of voters.
I would counter-point to poor graduation rates, decreasing competency stats despite more money for pupils than ever, and lower test scores across the board but especially with history and understanding our government and constitution, to raise the voting age to 21.
The age to vote, drink, be drafted or purchase a firearm should be the same. Either you're an adult, or you're not.
As for voting, I think you should also be a net tax payer. You know, skin in the game.
Some of us have believed for ages that a person should be on the property tax rolls to be allowed to vote.

Rotten idea....the school system is filling young heads full of mush with ultra liberal meaningless trivia..We don’t need children participating in our elections....we have enough scatterbrains as it is.
How about we let cats vote instead, they are smarter than teenagers in many respects.
What difference between inmates running the asylum and children running the day-care?
