Whitaker out at Justice Department
The Hill ^ | 03/04/2019 | Morgan Chalfant

Posted on 03/04/2019 9:42:53 AM PST by GIdget2004

Former acting Attorney General Matthew Whitaker has left the Department of Justice.

A Justice Department spokesman told The Hill that Whitaker’s last day was Saturday but did not expand on the circumstances surrounding his departure or his plans after leaving. It is unclear where Whitaker might go, including whether he might seek another role in the Trump administration.

Whitaker served as the chief of staff for former attorney general Jeff Sessions until last November, when President Trump tapped him to lead the department temporarily following Sessions’s ouster. Sessions resigned at Trump’s request the day after the November midterm elections, after enduring months of criticism from the president over his decision to recuse himself from special counsel Robert Mueller’s Russia investigation.

Whitaker’s departure comes less than three weeks after Bill Barr was confirmed as Trump’s next attorney general. Barr was widely expected to bring new blood to top leadership roles in the department, raising questions about Whitaker’s tenure.

Whitaker leaving the DOJ wasn’t “promised” nor “announced”.

How is Whittaker gone before Rosenstein?

Rosenstein owns the Mueller mess...he needs to clean up before he departs.

Wait and see who Barr selects as Deputy and who else he asks to leave.

Jeffrey Rosen, Trump’s pick as deputy attorney general, is the un-Rosenstein

You’re not here a year yet you insult and degrade and spout nonsense a lot.

I didn’t say elect Rudy for president as he’s not a conservative.

But he would be a good AG

You sound and act and talk like a freaking moron too often and i wish to GOD the future of conservatism isn’t found in inane, terribly undereducated, pompous losers like you.

If you have a wife i pity them, if you have kids they should move before your asanine and immature ways rub off on them.

What a prick ;)

The new AG probably has a Chief of Staff that he wants rather than Whitaker. Not a big deal. It isn’t as if he was fired. Most likely he can write his own ticket in the administration if he would like.
Venturing out in the private sector after being the AG for five months would be very lucrative.

I think you are way outta line here.

Mr. dp0622 has become a valuable asset here over the years and does have much direct experience regarding NYC over decades. Including living under the direct rule of Rudy [may an aged Rudy have strayed from the path some of late].

The Country is in a world of hurt here and all sorts of apparent White Knights [cough, cough **** Sessions **** cough, cough] have not turned out well.

We are yet in a period of experimentation by The Trumpster.

He needs some help in picking likely candidates who might actually get the job done, even if for a short while.

Rudy could easily be good for a serous shakeup.
