Maybe if there werent all these men running companies we would possibly have different results, says Alicia Glen, outgoing New York City deputy mayor for development.
If there were more women running large companies, there would be a different way in which people engage with communities, she argues.
New York politicians and CEOs in support of the now-scuttled deal wrote an open letter to Amazons Jeff Bezos to try to get him to change his mind.
New York Citys deputy mayor for housing and economic development, Alicia Glen, told CNBC on Friday, her last day in office, that shed like to see more women running big companies and if that were the case, deals like the now-scuttled Amazon headquarters plans for Queens might have different outcomes.
Maybe if there werent all these men running companies we would possibly have different results, said Glen, whose office spearheaded the Amazon HQ2 deal that fell apart last month, in the face of local protests led by liberal politicians such as freshman firebrand Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.
If there were more women running large companies, there would be a different way in which people engage with communities. There would be a different way in which people started to threaten to leave, etc., Glen said in a Squawk Box interview. When asked whether that stance could be seen as sexist, she said, I dont think its sexist at all.

Lies and disinformation to cover their mistake of driving Amazon off.
Well the women ran them off.
Hmmm...maybe a double decker sammich!
Oh no it wouldn’t have. Women like to shop for good deals, and New York was not a good deal. There is a greater percentage of women-owned businesses in red states than blue states.
Got an apple?
If a particular woman, married to a particular “mare”, ran a particular initiative in NYC and couldn’t remember where $850 million went..............
Bezos be sexist.
The first one to mention sex is the sexist.
Feelings..... Nothing else matters
Feelings, nothing more than feelings,
Trying to forget my feelings of love.
Tears drops rolling down on my face,
Trying to forget my feelings of love.
Bezos felt that having his organization in New York was a losing proposition
Another dumbass bigot voices her opinion.
Never mind that it was AOC and her ilk who screwed up the deal.
Yeah, that’s why Carly Fiorina’s political career has been such a smashing success (SNORT).
Probably not. Companies that are in crisis often turn to female CEOs and as soon as things get better they hand the reins back to the guys.
So women are suckers for a bad deal?
It is OK to say such a thing?
And that might reflect poorly on my wife’s choice for marriage, forty years ago?
Penny’s went from a high of $11.57 in 2016 to $1.89 the day before they decided to hand things over to the female CEO from JoAnn’s Fabric.
What a sexist thing to say.
There are NO DIFFERENCES between men and women. Alicia
needs to be taken down for suggesting that women may do things different than men. /sarc
So, New York women blew up the 2HQ deal and now it’s got to be a man’s fault because vagina.
Do I have that about right?
NYC deputy mayor-”If women ran firms like Amazon the HQ2 deal might have survived”

Yeah? And if chicks with Big Teeth didn’t run their mouth like idiots, the HQ2 deal might have survived.
