People always said that the National Socialism as practiced in Germany between 1933 and 1945 was historically a very bad thing, which was an excellent conclusion. But interestingly, they blamed the nationalism, not the socialism, which was the real mischief-maker in the doctrines of National Socialism.
Socialism cannot thrive on its own. Somewhere, sometime, the poor victims of this travesty of human “sharing” and “equality” either must be allowed to express their inner talents and be also given the opportunity to gain advantage for the profitable aspects of using that talent to the fullest extent (which means the right to ownership and the “pursuit of happiness”), or have the incentives and gains from that talent stripped away from them, resulting in a total loss of initiative and a certain “equality” in the status of poverty.
Capitalism is the engine that makes the distribution of social benefits even possible. Incentive comes from the willingness to harness initiative, and REWARD that initiative with profitable outcomes for the innovator.
Pragmatically, this is the most positive unleashing of human resources the world has ever known.
