The raging debate over late-term abortion, sparked by new laws in New York and Virginia that sought to guarantee abortion rights should Roe v. Wade be overturned, has pushed more Americans into the pro-life camp, according to a new poll.
Barbara Carvalho, who directed the new Marist poll commissioned by the Knights of Columbus, a pro-life Catholic organization, said the numbers showed “a dramatic shift” in attitudes about abortion policy.
“Current proposals that promote late-term abortion have reset the landscape and language on abortion in a pronounced — and very measurable — way,” Carvalho said in a statement on the Knights’ website.
The survey showed that Americans were now as likely to identify as pro-life as they were pro-choice, with both at 47 percent.
Last month, a Marist survey on abortion found that Americans were more likely to identify as pro-choice than pro-life by a margin of 55 to 38 percent.
“The recent legal changes to late-term abortion and the debate which followed have not gone unnoticed by the general public,” Carvalho said.

We were ALWAYS pro life, you just can't spin it any more.
When people can see for themselves what abortion really is they get active enough to fight it.
That is why they are fighting tooth and nail to keep their Baby-Body-Chop Shop business under legal wraps.
One of the Democrats’ problems is that they believe their own BS. So now they are over reaching. Infanticide legislation is bound to make it to the Supreme Court and will result in new restrictions on abortion.
MSM has done its best to cover the Rats vote for infanticide.

Nonetheless, the unspeakable official policies of the pro-abortion — not "pro-choice" but pro-abortion, pro-murder — cabal in New York State and elsewhere is disgusting, appalling, and ... dare I say it ... dripping with evil. I can hardly credit that on the national stage, they've actually gone so far as to reject strong federal protection of already-born babies. Are these people for real? :^(
The bright side of this brazen eruption of far-left extremism is that it'll only lead to widening revulsion in the polity against the entire concept of abortion, even early-stage abortions. The whole subject of abortion frankly tires me out, so I'll stop now.

It’s murder, not a popularity contest.
It's my contention that you can't be a Democrat if you are Christian. If you are, you are either delusional or greatly deceived. Anyone with discernment would run away from the Democrat party.
Largely because of growth in the Hispanic population I suspect.
Mere human beings who call themselves "Progressive" cannot, for long, endure in their ongoing efforts to deny Creator-endowed life, rights, laws to protect those rights and individual liberty! As has been said, that law has withstood centuries of attacks and, like an anvil, has "worn out many hammers."
