LAMAR, S.C. (WPDE) — An incident report from Lamar police said a substance found two weeks ago on two cars belonging to Lamar Mayor Darnell Byrd-McPherson has a yellowish tint to it and that it's a type of powder similar to pollen.
Byrd-McPherson said someone came onto her property back on Feb. 7 and vandalized her cars. She initially said the incident may be that of a hate crime.
Byrd-McPherson said Wednesday the State Law Enforcement Division (SLED) was unable to make a determination of the substance because no sample was taken by the Lamar Police Department.
What a dumb@ss.
ROTFL. The boy doesn’t get outside often enough to become familiar with pollen.
Did the pollen somehow fall on the car I the shape of an insult or something?
It’s a she. I know, Darnell is a man’s name but it’s all chaos now.

I was stationed in Louisiana in the 1980s, and always had to park along a row of funny trees. So in the spring...it released a ton of pollen and the car would be this yellow-tint that you’d have to use a high-pressure hose to get off. Then in October, birds heading south would congregate on the same trees and dump a ton of bird-poop on the car, and you’d have to high-pressure clean the car for that episode. I probably spent $100 a year on car-wash expenses.
I was trying not to “assume”.

The incident happened last night. Even though I drove my car today, I thought it was pollen. My husband and our neighbor noticed the cars looked like someone had spray painted on both our vehicles, which were parked in our front yard.
As an aside, during the 70s, crosses were burned in the yard of our home when my Mother was involved with the civil rights movement. On this very same corner in this very same front yard!
Again, we are grateful the person or persons did not try to take our lives but the culprits will be identified and prosecuted.
Love conquers hate and my husband and I refuse to be intimidated by those who perpetrated this act of vandalism which I classify as an act of hatred.”
That’s what this is really about, rehashing something that SUPPOSEDLY happened almost 50 years ago. Sounds like a perpetual victim. Sheesh
