WASHINGTON — When she was younger, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez said she acted like a “white dude” to get ahead.
“Like straight up. You think you need to talk a certain way, dress a certain way, have your shoulder pads out to here, be like, ‘Hi Jan!’” she said, deepening her voice in a podcast interview. “You think that’s how you have to move through the world and I found myself subconsciously doing that in high school and in college.”
“I felt like I need to write a certain way and talk a certain way,” she went on. “And like the things they like, and play golf.”
Ocasio-Cortez was making the point that when she was growing up in the 1990s and 2000s, “I didn’t see any women like me in positions of leadership.”
“And so when you’re only seeing white dudes running the world you think you need to act like a white dude to run the world,” the New York Democrat said.

She’s running out of material
She quit acting like a white dude, and now she’s doing the village idiot routine? What a talented person. Her elevator don’t go to the top floor but ya can’t always get what ya want.
I think she means “acted like an adult” ...
And like, and like, and like. Rolling my eyes.
It is typical for some women to mimic completely the manners and hobbies of their new partner. So she is so special, I think not.
Kind of like what Eddie Murphy did in "Coming to America"?
So now she is acting like an a$$hhole to fit in with the rest of the a$$holes in Congress.
Oh please. There were many women in positions of political power when she was growing up.
Yeah, back then if you were a dumbass, no one would hire you for a real job. You'd be a custodian. Or a bartender.
I felt like I need to write a certain way and talk a certain way.
Was it subconscious or did you feel the need to do it? Which is it?
AOC is an ugly bigot.
But those women weren't former bartenders educated beyond their intelligence.
So she implies she believes whites are the greatest inventors, discoverers of medical breatkthroughs,painters, sculptors,classical composers,poets,philosophers, writers,mathematicians,hockey players and rock guitarists (except for half white Jimi Hendrix). Not the best rappers,boxers, blues artists or Olympic runners.
Who would have thought Ocasio Cortez was such a racist? Me.
She’s only 29 years old now. In 1999 or the end of the nineties she would have only been 10. What a Dumbass.
Just as I suspected a few days ago, she seems to be a “like” speaker to conform to her zombie supporters. Eventually she will be extending and misidentifying usage of words and phrases such as “literally,” “a-may-zing” and “andiwaslikeomigod.”
So she admits to appropriating white people culture to fit in and make her life better for herself.
I guess shes for assimilation, but only when it works for her.
Do we have to cover every little stupid thing she says?
