Sen. Thom Tillis said in a column posted Monday evening that he will oppose President Trump’s declaration of a border-security emergency.
In an op-ed for the Washington Post, the North Carolina Republican said he would support a resolution blocking Mr. Trump’s decree when it comes before the Senate.
“I would vote in favor of the resolution disapproving of the president’s national-emergency declaration, if and when it comes before the Senate,” he concluded the column after laying out his support for Mr. Trump’s border-security agenda in general and criticizing Democrats’ obstructionism on the matter.
But he said it’s a matter of separation of powers and warned Republicans that declaring states of emergency to get around Congress could come back to bite them.

The separation of powers argument is weak. Congress passed legislation giving the power to the President.
Just another loser . . . they probably have something on him. These legislators should be held personally responsible for any American citizen murdered/killed or experiencing loss of property by an illegal
He’s my senator too and we should let him know how we feel about this.
He isn’t working for or representing citizens in his state. He works for others.
I remember thousand of phone calls going to Kit Bond of Missouri a dozen years ago and he reversed himself. You NC guys better use every email toon on his staff that he might be moved by hearing.

LOL. The arrogance is breathtaking. I myself will register my “vote of disapproval” in 2022 should Trump not be in the White House and Little Marco Rubio on my ballot.

The problem is Thom Tillis is not your Senator. He represents the big donor wing of the GOP. The Party of Lincoln has chosen K Street over Main Street and it will be their end. The GOP coalition has been splintered forever by Never Trumpism.
