Actually, it was discussed by him and his administration and I think they thought perhaps S. America would be good, but there was a group of black delegates who reminded Lincoln that they, too, fought for freedom in this country. So the issue was settled with the Emancipation Proclamation. Read about the American Colonization Society and from there to Liberia.

Whining about slavery may make one feel good, but it accomplishes nothing productive.
Small quibble: Two grandsons of President Tyler were alive in 2018. So there could easily be grandchildren of slaves alive. There could even be the living child of a slave: someone born in 1930 to a man born in slavery in 1865.

It’s often repeated that there are more slaves worldwide now than at any time in human history. The few exceptions (like here) is where the left wants to bring slavery back to, while claiming the opposite.
Racists are people who are obsessed with race and identify everyone by race first and foremost.
