The Pentagon is planning to deploy hundreds more American military personnel to the southern border, in the wake of President Trumps announcement of a national emergency along the countrys border with Mexico.
Currently 5,000 U.S. troops are stationed in Texas, Arizona and California, backing immigration enforcement operations led by the Department of Homeland Security. With Mr. Trumps declaration of a national emergency, that number is expected to surge to 6,000 by March 1, a senior Defense Department official said Friday.
Those troops will provide air support to Customs and Border Patrol officers and Homeland Security agents carrying out border security operations. In addition, those forces have been tasked with securing the hundreds of miles of territory along the border, in between the major points of entry into the U.S.
Mr. Trump has repeatedly said those areas have become a highway for illegal immigrants and illicit narcotics coming into the U.S., despite reports from Homeland Security officials that most of the illegal smuggling comes through known entry points.
To secure those areas, U.S. troops are stringing an additional 140 miles of border area with concertina wire, along with other areas that have already been fortified during previous troop deployments to the border. That work, which the Pentagon official says is 30 percent complete, will be coupled with a new ground-based detection and monitoring mission to be conducted by U.S. military units.

That would be great!
I don’t want hundreds. I want tens of thousands, including a large number from the Sea Bees and from the Army Corps of Engineers. Let’s build the Wall and simultaneously block criminals from entering illegally where we do not yet have a wall.
Send them to the Yuma sector quick please!! We are being swamped.
*APPLAUSE*
Best. Election. Ever. EVER! MAGA! :)
Ping me if you can! :)
I’ll try. Been almost 10 years since I was on here (except lurking from time to time). I live on he border now and write for a couple of newspapers here.
All this BS on the news about a “manufactured” crisis or no crisis is Bullshit, excuse my language. But I’ll let the ranchers who live on the border and deal with human and drug smuggling cartel activity daily tell the story. I am there to record it.
Apologies to all. Had a visitor as soon as I posted the thread and couldn’t participate.
I see you’ll get some help Girl from Jet and Dianna, looking forward to your pics!
I will be at the border at a rally tomorrow, held by ranchers who are being overrun by drug and human smuggling cartels. If I can figure out how to post pics I may post some.
Are these the same ranchers who are refusing to give up any land for the wall? If yes, I say let the illegals $h!t and p!$$, tear down fences, sheds, whatever. Bunch of hypocrites as far as Im concerned.
WHY ARE WE ALLOWING CITIZENS FROM OTHER COUNTRIES
ENTERING ILLEGALLY GRANTING THEM RIGHTS
THAT THEIR COUNTRY DENY US HAVING
WHEN ENTERING IT LEGALLY ???
It’s time we consider illegal entry by any person who is a non Mexican citizen illegally entering the United States through the US Mexican border a defacto Mexican citizen with limited Mexican constitutional rights subject to their laws while transiting. As well as any Mexican citizen doing so. Subject to reciprocal citizen treatment a citizen of the United States receives in Mexico through the Mexican constitution on citizenship .
Besides being unable to vote one must also be a citizen to own land and Mexico is very restrictive about granting citizenship. Because of that a US citizen besides not being able to vote, and cannot have title in their name to any land property in Mexico. And until that is changed the US and the affected state should consider making that reciprocal.prohibiting citizens of Mexico or countries with similar restrictions from doing both voting and land ownership.. .
Sounds like wire-making companies are doing well
I will say it again. Arm them, put them in front of B(order) P(atrol) with ROEs to SHOOT>
We’ll know that is true when videos of armor moving to the border begin to pop up

As well as remote-controlled gun towers with 30mm GAU-7s. We could put those A-10 guns in the bone yard to good use.
Got plenty of it at Fort Hood. Hop, skip and a jump away.
Ooooh - another concern troll type opts to bitch instead of rooting for what Trump is doing....Waaah waaah...sis kum bah.it ain’t enuff it ain’t enuff
Give each soldier a loaded machine gun
The A-10s might be overkill, but blocking the illegals from crossing and refusing to accept asylum requests other than those who cross legally would be a good start.
I wish I could be with you
