Jussie Smollett is begging his "Empire" family to believe he's innocent and continue supporting him -- even as the drama of his arrest postponed a scene Thursday in Chicago. Sources on the "Empire" set tell us the cast and crew were waiting at least 30 minutes for Jussie to begin the scheduled scene. When he eventually showed his face he was very emotional, and surrounded by his family. We're told he addressed everyone on set, saying ..."I’m sorry I’ve put you all through this and not answered any calls. I wanted to say I’m sorry and, you know me, I would never do this to any of you, you are my family. I swear to God, I did not do this.” After that, he left the set. We're told it was obvious Jussie had been crying a lot, so producers said he would have to come back later. He did, and we're told he is currently shooting the scene.

Jussie, maybe just shut up and recite your lines for now.
Get real, it’s not likely that your Cast members are going to say they think you’re full of it, even if that’s what they feel.
They don’t want the grief of you running to Twitter, and blaming them for the oncoming consequences of your own actions. So, just shut up and sing, as the saying goes. You may not be on the Cast much longer anyway.

20 or so years ago I had a church friend who was in leadership and was charged with perving on a young teen boy.
He said the same thing, “ I swear to God, I did not do it”. He maintained the ruse until close to the trial date then copped a plea deal admitting everything.
Denial in the face of guilt overwhelms some people who keep up the ruse until they have no other choice.
IMO, Empire is the biggest thing to ever happen in Jusse’s life and has become his identity. He doesn’t want to face the fact that he’s lost it forever.
Suicide.

Jussie strikes me as the type to say
“We don’t need your effen’ prayers!” , after something tragic happens and a Mayor says ‘We are praying for this family!’.

He’s going out with the, “I dent do nuffen” defense? Not very clever considering the evidence against these stooges. It must be a plea for support directed at those drooling in cups. He can’t even blame the Nigerians. What a hoot!
Smollett attempted to set race relations back years and paint millions of white Trump supporters as violent racist, all while attacking the president himself with his racist hate generated lies. And he wanted it all on video! Gak! What a piece of work Smollett is. A real bad actor.

“Empire” cast congratulates Jussie for his awesome performance, and will push for an Oscar nomination.
I’m actually kind of surprised that this fool is taking this approach (and that his lawyers are letting him). At this point, I would pretty much expected him to shut up and then plead a defense of stress/depression/insanity that comes with being a small town girl living in a lonely world (i.e., a gay black man in a racist, homophobic, Trumpian country).
I heard on the radio today that Actress Jesse is a Rooskie Mulatto.
