The reinvention of vocabulary can often be more effective than any social protest movement. Malarial swamps can become healthy wetlands. Fetid dumps are often rebranded as green landfills.
Global warming was once a worry about too much heat. It implied that man-made carbon emissions had so warmed the planet that life as we knew it would soon be imperiled without radical changes in consumer lifestyles.
Yet in the last 30 years, record cold spells, inordinate snow levels and devastating rains have been common. How to square that circle?
Substitute climate change for global warming. Presto! Any radical change in weather could be perceived as symptomatic of too much climate-changing carbon dioxide in the atmosphere.
Suddenly, blizzards, deluges and subzero temperatures meant that typically unpredictable weather was haywire because of affluent Westernized lifestyles.
Beware of euphemisms. Radical changes in vocabulary are usually admissions that reality is unwelcome or indefensible.

Going to ask congressman Jered Huffman two questions tonight on now advertised,”extreme weather” and how the hell he thinks we can afford single payer.
"Aren't you embarrassed that there is such little evidence of 'AWG' that they had to change the name?"
Words mean things, which is why they intentionally try to skew the meanings to further their agenda. What better example than “gay” for homosexual? (there’s nothing GAY about it) or “People’s Republic” for communist dictatorship?
The danger of euphemisms has always been of great concern to me, and I have always made an effort to criticize their use whenever someone uses them while talking with me.

I asked a woman's right to choose what? beat her children? sell her children? own slaves?
another discussion I was having, the individual kept using the term "racist". I asked them "please define racism and explain it it applies to this conversation"
then they start stuttering...
Before Global Warming was Global Cooling. Back in the 80’s and 90’s Global Cooling was the fad. By the year 2000 we were supposed to have another Ice Age, the Great Lakes would freeze up and so on . . . Well that didn’t happen, so Global Warming became the fad . . . Since that’s a bit far fetched, lets go with Climate Change - that will work for both - must create some kind of crisis to gain mind control = that will lead to power.
Geologist say that there have been at least five ice ages in the history of the Earth. After all of those ice ages occurred there was the follow-on change of climate which we are experiencing as well. The only difference between all those other periods of climate change both Ice Age and Recovery, I repeat, the ONLY difference in this current recovery that we are experiencing is the governmental fleecing of taxpayers.
Hmmm. I guess he means like how leftist hellhole cities become our most “vulnerable and frontline communities”.
Its called the weather and if anybody might notice it changes daily. Its most impacted by the sun, not man-made anything. Globull warming, climate change, is just a lot of BS
I( always wonder what the goal of climate change is. Example: if it gets colder do we then use more fossil fuels?
