When news got slow in certain weeks in the print newspaper business, they called it the silly season when UFO stories, Bigfoot sightings, and others were in the papers due to lack of substantial subjects. As when DC empties out for 2 weeks every holiday. Leaves us with McCain (gone) Flake and Mitt to drone on for hours on TV panels.
