I heard Mitch on the floor yesterday stating for the record that he supports the national emergency.
Naturally, it take a hot potato off his plate. It’s all beltway theater. Mitch is doing everything he can to elect a Democrat POTUS in 2020. He just doesn’t want GOP fingerprints on Trump losing.

Really? You think both the House and the Senate can muster up 2/3 votes to override? It won’t be vetoed.
A guaranteed override. AFter another 30 day shutdown where everything grinds to a halt. Don’t delude yourself: the GOP would like nothing better than overriding POTUS, weakening him fatally. and stealing the beltway agenda entirely.
This isn’t about abortion. This is about declaring a National Emergency.....which he made clear ‘before’ was not the first option and why he was waiting.

What is even better, is as the effectiveness of the wall bears good statistical proof — lower crime, drugs, human trafficking...— President Trump can go back to congress and ask for more funding to reimburse the NE funding.
The issue then becomes a giant political punching bag for 2020 and beyond.
IMHO, 2020 was just won today.
To anyone upset about him signing the Bill, it passed with over 3/4 majority.
Not signing it would get him nowhere but make him look like he’s throwing a tantrum.
I know we like to be all fire and fury, but there are times when compromise is necessary.

Look. He has been talking about declaring an emergency for months now. If he really, really, really, wanted it he could have done it a while ago. Instead he gave the demonrats and rinos enough time to come up with this “bill” and tie his hands. He let them, pure and simple. I know, I know, it’s 4D chess. In the meantime he is allowing states to murder babies up until birth and his buddy Hillery is walking free. I really don’t give a rats ass about a few extra cents in my paycheck when dollars are being taken out to kill innocent children.

And even if the bill did inhibit the DHS from making arrests, the provisions in the national emergency act would allow the military to take over apprehension and detention duties in a declared emergency, as the language in section 224(a) only pertains specifically to the DHS, plus the state of emergency act allows Presidents to act to a specific situation where legislation falls short, for as long as the state of emergency is in place and the emergency exists.

I’m not pissed - I’ve been a Trump supporter for a long time. This demonstrates the democrats don’t care about the border. This insures we win back the House and keep the Senate and Trump wins re-election. In the mean time work continues on building a wall. We are so far ahead of where we’d be with HRC.
