In a recent video to promote a World Government Summit in Dubai, legendary "Star Wars" actor Harrison Ford offered the usual litany of doom. "What does living in a 4-degrees-warmer world look like? Freshwater shortages. Higher greenhouse gas emissions. Unprecedented fires. Worldwide destruction. Is this the world we want?"
Ford added: "Our planet, the only home we've got, is suffering. This is the bare truth. This is our reality. It's up to you and me to act now to face the greatest moral crisis of our time, to take action. It is time to make a difference."
Leftists can make this kind of unproven doom case forever, and it never loses its "moral authority." It doesn't matter that they've been selling the end of humanity since at least 1968 when Paul Ehrlich published his ludicrous manifesto "The Population Bomb." Did we all die over the last 50 years? Does anyone point and laugh at the elite media who eagerly pushed that "fake news"?

Wind or solar powered.
I'll believe Spock before I believe Solo a known liar and smuggler.
There was a VHS tape floating around in the early 90’s “The next great Ice Age” or something like that. The hypothesis was based on real science. I haven’t been able to find it online anywhere.
LOL!
“A parsec is a distance!”
Of course it is. Hyperspace travel thru rock and gas fields requires greater energy and tight navigation but is faster than the safer, low-energy route through open space. A hyperspace route can indeed be expressed as a distance. In trading time and distance equal money. So the Kessel run in 12 parsecs is indicitive of some badass hyperspace skills.
ok
Really Mr. Ford? How many aircraft and cars does one person really need? Doesn’t all these oil burners cause the problem? Come on Mr. Ford set an example, fly commercial and take Uber!
Yep...
Here’s some of Ford’s flying antics.
I certainly do not ascribe to the disgusting and un-conservative growing trend on FR to wish for peoples’ deaths but this guy needs to straighten up and fly right.

So “auger” would be inappropriate then?
Note to Harrison Clueless Ford: “Stay in your lane, bro.”
“It’s up to you and me to act now to face the greatest moral crisis of our time, to take action. It is time to make a difference.””
And how are you planning to make a difference Harrison? What are you proposing?
The distance of 20 parsecs refers to the length of the plotted maze through the maelstrom. The kessel run includes the lengthy maze through the maelstrum
Solo took a short cut out through the side of the maze which was more direct and thus cut the distance by about 8 parsecs.
It was a cheat because he used an unregulated path through the maelstrom so dangerous that even smugglers would not try it.
At least that is a reinterpretation of the jargon.
Kinda like the marathoner who wins by taking a car for all but the first and last 1000 meters... of a race.
Maybe!
There’s one Freeper now whose posts consist of:
“Liberals need to die.”
“That woman needs to die.”
“I’d like to kill that guy...”
Creeps me the heck out.
The series didn’t age very well.
What does it mean? A wine industry in Greenland...
“What does living in a 4-degrees-warmer world look like? Freshwater shortages.”
What moronic drivel! Wouldn’t the higher temperature cause more ocean evaporation and thus more rain, i.e. more fresh water?
In other news, deserts are hot
ford forgot to add the reversal of gravity, a real threat.
We're all gonna fall off the planet!
.."Is this the world we want?"
That line never made sense to me. A parsec is a measure of distance. It's like me saying saying I ran the Boston Marathon is 16.2 miles.
No matter how many Star Wars fanboys try to justify the language as meaning something rational, Lucas screwed up and wrote it wrong. AND whoever wrote "Solo" doubled down on stupid when Han Solo bragged AGAIN about making the Kessel run is 12 parsecs.
