The House of Representatives is scheduled to vote on a government appropriations bill Thursday evening and, with a day until the vote, lawmakers still have not received the text of the legislation.
Id veto it.
How do you use your website to hammer away at this type of legislation? Just by posting info? Do you then send it to legislators, somehow?
Just curious. TIA.
Is there a “Hell NO!” button?
“Pedestrian fencing” is exactly what a border protection barrier is. It’s built to stop PEOPLE — not VEHICLES — from crossing the border.
The 2,000 page ObamaCare bill was not available to read either until the day before the vote...
Nancy Pelosi “You have to vote on it to read it” or something like that...
Highly likely littered with poison pills.
The purpose of a budget for the government is to submit to the people's representatives in such a transparent way that the people's representatives votes on the allocation of resources as well as the imposition of taxes can be determined up or down by the electorate. When our government proceeds for decades on continuing resolutions, the system breaks down, representative democracy is frustrated, graft and corruption and crony capitalism thrive.
All of this is made possible by the practice of simply borrowing money without consideration of the long-term costs to society and certainly to the next generation. This power to borrow money is unique to postwar America as the world's superpower and reserve currency. This, coincidence of factors permits our government to print money almost at will, to receive funds from foreign countries because we are the reserve currency and the largest economy, to avoid inflation by the additional coincidence of cheap Chinese goods to import, cheap labor to import keeping domestic wages down, and the digital revolution keeping costs overall down.
For the time being there seems to be no present-day economic consequences to running up a staggering debt of $22 trillion. There are no political consequences for doing so and there will be no political consequences so long as there is no pain. Indeed, the political consequences run the other way becausethose who complain about overspending tend to lose elections. Those who promised to keep the music playing tend to win elections.
For a dissertation along these lines at a length only Nathan Bedford could contrive, one is referred to this LINK
Pedestrian fencing implies a short fence one would find in your backyard - certainly NOT a WALL.
We can do nothing about it, sadly. The lazy are in majority now padded by the 35 million LEGAL chain migrants imported by our chain migration immigration system.
Every one has their panties twisted shouting about the illegals and the temporary H1-B visa workers, neither of whom can vote (at least legally).
While the 35 million LEGAL chain migrants admitted in 30 years are citizens after 5 years of arrival, and are voting for congress critters who will give them more handouts. To qualify for chain migration, all one needs is another chain migrant relative in the country. There is no vetting for skills, wealth or even knowledge of Engish.
My tag line has been around for many moons.
Presumably, the people who wrote the bloody thing know what’s in it. Who are they? Surely not any elected representative anyone here has ever heard of. They’re too lazy and too busy generating positive cash flow.
These duplicitous losers in congress despise the American Citizens. How absolutely pathetic. May they all receive the Justice they so richly deserve.
You’re “implying” something based on what you think it is. I’m looking at it based on its functionality and the definition of the terms.
Trump will read it and echo it back to us. He will make it public.
I’ll look it over for them, for 23 million $.
Another total abrogation of their oath which is to protect the US against all enemies foreign and domestic. While we all know what it is, what is it we plan to do to rectify it? Vote them out? How, many of their constituents are not lawful voters to begin with. Then go to their votes have been compromised by giving benefits to them which the country cannot afford except by borrowing beyond responsible limits. Whenever anyone shows up to rein in the bureauacy, they are ostracized or run out of office by the establishment. The only way out is a dilemma because it is not lawful.
12k pages and no one will read it. Obamacare all over again.
All bills should be limited to one letter sized page in double spaced, one inch margins, size 12 New Times Roman. Anything longer than that should be banned and not allowed to be reintroduced for 4 years.
Sorry...but I’m looking at reality and the history of the DNC/CPUSA/GOPE party.
Voting on any bill without first reading it would be mis and non-feasance.
