Can I ask a stupid question?
How is it, that David Hogg became famous and an activist here? How is it, that in other school shootings, none of the students became nationally famous, in the media constantly, etc. ? What is so special about this guy, that the media have apparently anointed him as their gun control guy?
Perhaps because the vast majority of them are too discrete and sincere to make a career from the bodies of their classmates.

Maybe he and Ocasio Cortez have a public notoriety agent, like the speakers bureaus that handle talk radio stars and ex office holders to get them in front of audiences for a cut of their fees.

Opportunity. Most high school kids would have no desire to be so political. Let the media know you’re out there, vocal and want to be a hammer for the same ideologies as the left and they will give you the attention-whoring coverage you want.
I think the kid is a moron and wrong-headed but I’ll give him credit for seeing opportunity and knowing how the game is played to achieve his own self-interests. I’m also sure his ex-FBI dad helped with the coaching.
Hogg is the media’s “Snerd of the Day”...they stick their hands up his @$$ and he does what they want....
