Outgoing Ohio Gov. John Kasich (R) warned in a USA Today op-ed on Monday that the GOP "seems stuck in the 1950s."
Kasich, who is considering running for president in 2020 after a failed bid in 2016, also said Republicans haven't learned from their losses in the midterm elections.

Justin Timberlake, Cher, Miley Cyrus, etc.
Those white celebrities influence young white voters. Period.

The 50s were good for some, not for all. Blacks were still segregated and could not vote. And who was doing that? Democrats.

Sod off, swampy.
It took a vast left-wing conspiracy including the Communists, numerous front groups, the Press, the Schools, Drug Lords, Pornographers, and most of the politicians to get us into this mess.
And it still took them *decades*.
Once we drain the Swamp, restoring America to the 1950s will be a snap.

In truth, most women would prefer to stay at home raising their children.

A coworker (female) allowed me to hear the joke women repeat to each other on hectic, bad days at work:
“I would just like to get my hands on that first woman who said one day I want to go out to get a job.”

So true. Role models who shape tomorrow’s young leaders. As I said, we are in deep trouble.

In truth, most women would prefer to stay at home raising their children. They are not ALLOWED to stay home by a society that shames or forces them to work. Feminism does not speak for the majority of women. Nailed it!

Why does everyone say going back to the 1950’s is a bad thing? I think it would be great. That does not mean literally. What it means is the morals and friendliness of the time. It does not mean that blacks are second class citizens or that we lose our advances in technology. It just means that the family is a close knit group. That everyone looks out for each other. That people are not nasty to one another. That everyone believes in God or at least a higher power. That prayer can be in school. That teachers are respected by the students. There are a lot of great things about the 1950’s. I really wish the Republicans who want to go back to the 1950 would explain what they mean more clearly.

"The 50s were a mixed decade.
What was so bad for the 50s?
Blacks could not vote, they were seen as subhuman.
The 1850? Yes.
But in the 1950s the majority could and did vote. Yes there were precincts in counties scattered throughout the South were they took their life in in hands at the polling places but that was rare.
Corruption in the North by the Mafia and Union thugs were bad but to say a white man's vote didn't count would be just as hysterical.
Amd blacks in the 1950s didn't have to dodge bullets from their own gangs, their family unit were largely intact(almost equal to white families) and lived in the same neighborhoods as doctors, lawyers and businessmen.
Segregation did have it's positive side.

Mcchesney, probably America’s best ever Fed head started in 1951. Monetary policy that made single income family more reasonable.....I’d like to roll that back from the 50’s.

In the 1950s most Blacks did vote. The percentage of mother married to father Black households was decisively higher. The Black crime rate was lower.
Today there is still segregation but of another kind.

Seems to me that Kasich has his own problem with being stuck somewhere. Everyone else can see it, Mr. Kasich!
