From the gov:
Dear sheriffs.
It doesn't matter if it's constitutional or not, it passed and is now law. Do your job.
Here to serve the state.
The Gov.

The Sheriff here in Mason County has joined the opposition to this unconstitutional law.

The NRA and SAF are focusing on the laws age-limit increase in their legal challenge.
I'm surprised. I would think courts would be more comfortable holding the safety class requirement unconstitutional than the age limit. If the age limit in this case is unconstitutional, then so is the age limit for handgun sales under federal and many states' laws. The Supreme Court is going to be reluctant to touch that.

Sheriffs serve the people, not the state.

When liberals fight laws they don’t like they first shop for a judge to get an injunction to stop the law while it is litigated. Why can’t we?

It doesn't matter if it's constitutional or not, it passed and is now law. Do your job. If I recall, that very sort of demand didn't protect the Nazis at the Nuremberg War Crimes Trials.

Power is the great evil with which we are contending. We have divided power between three branches of government and erected checks and balances to prevent abuse of power. However, where is the check on the power of the judiciary? If we fail to check the power of the judiciary, I predict that we will eventually live under judicial tyranny.
