Former first daughter Chelsea Clinton called out Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) on Sunday evening for using an anti-Jewish stereotype when she alleged that members of Congress had been paid to support Israel. Omar began by tweeting “It’s all about the Benjamins baby” in response to a comment by left-wing Israel critic Glenn Greenwald in which he lamented that Congress in general, and Republicans in particular, supported Israel.
At no point did Omar acknowledge that what she had said was in any way antisemitic or offensive.
Chelsea Clinton’s husband, Marc Mezvinsky, is Jewish.

I thought that was a common reference to Ben Franklin on hundred-dollar bills. I’m sure other elected representatives (and D’s to boot) in the House and Senate have said worse about Israel in the recent past. Why now over that remark?

It always amazed me until a conservative Jew explained it to me. He said, “most American Jews are liberals first and Jewish second.” He also said, “the liberal American Jews do not really care about Israel.” In effect their culture is East Coast Liberalism and their faith is secondary.
The Jews in the United States are at the top of education, science, engineering and success and rightfully so by dent of hard work. They are also fools.
I think Rep. Omar’s antisemitic behavior and rhetoric will eventually flesh out the hypocrisy the Left has about Islam. I stand with Chelsea (as I would with Ivanka) on calling out this overt racism.
The problem is that you’ll NEVER get Islamists to admit they’re being racist. They’ve had thousands of years of conditioning to believe Jews are somehow subhuman. They won’t be able to control their hatred any more than a Klansman would control their hatred of blacks.
What will happen is the Left will try to minimize Rep. Omar’s statements or claim they are misquoted or taken out of context but she can’t help spouting antisemitic crap and, at some point, the Left will have to take sides.
