ANTELOPE WELLS U.S. Border Patrol agents have arrested 290 Central Americans who entered the country illegally near a port of entry in a remote area of southwestern New Mexico.
Customs and Border Protection said the migrants arrested early Friday near Antelope Wells, 122 miles west of El Paso, were from Guatemala, Nicaragua, El Salvador and Honduras, and they included a boy who appeared to be ill and who was taken to a hospital for treatment.
CBP said over 27 groups of more than 100 people have been apprehended in the area in the fiscal year that started Oct. 1.

I just heard the New Mexico Dems are about to vote to join Mexico ,Third World or bust
Send them to the Governor’s mansion.
Customs and Border Protection said the migrants arrested
It’s from the Santa Fe newspaper. Up there, a sanctuary city, illegals can do no wrong. Therefore they are just poor migrants.
Big deal they will be released. Does any other country do this? Catch and Release?
letting them step in is NOT winning
A better headline would be “Border Patrol shoots 290....”
Where’s the pictures of this ?
Let me guess - all these “migrants” had lost their documents???
Below is a picture of a group apprehended last month at this location.
As the article says, there have been over 2,700 illegals arrested since October 1. If you look at Google Earth there is a barrier at the border at this location, but it ends east and west of the port of entry. Also, I understand that it is mainly a vehicle barrier and individuals can penetrate it. Further, just south of the border is Mexico route 2 where buses or trucks can easily drop off migrants.
They will just be released and disappear.
When there is news coverage on this invasion and there are pictures available. Including them adds impact to the posting instead of making the reader go to the lefty source
This was an AP piece from the lefty Santa Fe New Mexican (and with no article pictures) so brevity was required under FR’s copyright guidelines.
The picture is from the ABQ Journal a few weeks ago who editorialized that a border barrier was needed as part of a border security package. All elected NM Dims oppose a wall.
BTW, check out my thread yesterday on the issues on how the migrants are being mislead into coming to the border. It also includes tables of apprehensions for FY 2017, 2018 and FY 2019 through December.

There are pictures, but only of the poverty in a third world country.
From another article I posted (see the link in #17 above) the total number apprehended at the Antelope Wells POE since last October 27 is 5,370 illegals!!
CBP generally only releases one photo of each large group, groups of under 100 are not even reported to the public other than in stats released periodically. Most of the news articles do have a photo of group apprehended that day.
President Trump changed the policy on asylum. Those that entered illegally were not eligible for asylum and could be deported.
A judge ruled it does not matter if they enter illegally and they can claim asylum any time, any where.
