A city lawmaker in New York is refusing to apologize for saying that the city government is controlled by the homosexual community.
Bronx city council member Ruben Diaz Sr., described as a conservative Democrat, made the comment while speaking on the Spanish-language radio program, El Desahogo," last week, according to The New York Daily News.
City Council Speaker Corey Johnson, who is gay, and others called for Diaz to apologize over the comment. The disgraceful and homophobic comments made by Ruben Diaz Sr. dont reflect this citys values, New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio (D) tweeted on Saturday. The council member owes an apology to @NYCSpeakerCoJo and 8.6 million New Yorkers.
Values?
Values?
NYC doesn’t have no stinkin’ values.
When the truth is a slur...
Conservative Democrats were once common here in the south.
Many of them became Republicans.
Diaz seems like a decent man. Glad he is showing some courage and leadership.
What color could they add to a Black Flag? Black is already the presence of all colors. Forget that ‘Rainbow’ crap.
The left continues to eat its own as the ultraweirdos pull the party leftward.
Vomit Green. I lived in SF when AIDS first identified, had many gay friends. Poor guys were dying right and left. We had no clue what caused AIDS. Had it been airborne, we were all dead. I was truly sympathetic then. My gay friends were having funerals for friends every week. You would be sympathetic too.
BUT now? Not so much. My dearest gay friend, Micheal, has decided it's All Trump's Fault. Sayonara Michael.
Veto! {the girl}
People ask the same sort of question when people who brag about running Detroit are pointed out as the ones running Detroit, people who brag about running Hollywood are pointed out as the ones running Hollywood, billionaires who brag about running the Democrat Party are pointed out as the ones running the Democrat Party . . . and so on about a dozen others or more.
Being the aggrieved party is all they know how to blabber about and they can't risk anyone realizing they're the ones in power and not the ones being oppressed.
Another example of Democrats fighting each other.
Stand your ground Mr. Diaz. You are correct.
If you apologize... you’re dead meat.
New York values ...
“”dont reflect this citys values””
We have to have someone write a law that forbids language that starts with - “doesn’t reflect who we are”, “doesn’t reflect what we stand for”, “doesn’t reflect our values”, “it’s not who we are”, “not what our country stands for”...yada yada! Can’t these yahoos come up with anything original? All group think and group speak!!
I especially love it when those two loons from MI and MN who were elected to the House of Representatives say, “That’s not WHO WE ARE AS A COUNTRY”. Oh! really! I don’t even like that they include themselves in that statement.
THEY certainly are not WHAT we want in OUR COUNTRY!
Seems like they’re po’d at being homo.
Even Diaz’s own son criticized him for attacking the gay community. Which he didn’t. He merely stated a fact. Every position of power in this city is held by some kind of pervert.
Exactly!
By demanding he apologize, they are exactly proving his point.
I guess you get on the right side of things if you know what's good for you. If that means you go against your father, too bad.

The Bronx, for those who'd forgotten, is the place from which Occasional Cortex claims to be, even though she grew up in Westchester. Let's see what happens next...
Socially this guy is pretty much on our side. He’s prolife, very conservative. and probably correct in this instance, but of course the real problem isn’t the homosexuality, it’s the communism.
It goes against the "homosexuals are victims" narrative, and is therefore homophobic.
That's my theory anyway.
No wonder they are so hateful. No one can hate the way that gays do
They keep this up, someone’s gonna get Harvey Milk-ed.
