Mayor Eric Garcetti has ordered Los Angeles police to scale back on vehicle stops in response to an investigation by the Los Angeles Times that concluded African American drivers were stopped at a rate more than five times their share of the population.
According to the Los Angeles Times, the department currently makes about 60,000 vehicle stops per year—significantly more than in years past.
The mayor wants the department to direct resources to other activities that will help build trust with the citizens of Los Angeles.
Garcetti said in a statement, "I have directed the Chief of Police to prioritize other elements of our comprehensive crime reduction strategy, beyond vehicle stops, until we learn more—so that we can accelerate the reduction in vehicle stops that has been achieved since they peaked a couple of years ago."
Garcetti added, "We have to keep prioritizing what works to both stop crime and strengthen trust."
Police Commissioner Shane Murphy Goldsmith said she supports more community policing and youth programs, which she believes will address the root causes of crime.
Disproportionate to what?
Well, quite proportionate to “drives like complete jackass” if my experience is anything to go by...
Vehicle stops often can lead to arrests for outstanding warrants, DUI, drug possession . . .
I guess that they do not want a repeat of this.
So non-blacks can now file a suit of ‘racial targetting’ by LAPD.
Disproportionately criminals. What is their point?

With the concern and focus on percentage of blacks being stopped, and how to create a more “representative” percentage, the question is how this works.
So, cop pulls over heavily tinted car during day, or any car at night for any one of thousands of reasons. Car and cruiser come to stop by side of road. Cop gets out, driver opens window. Cop sees driver is white, writes ticket. Cop sees driver is black, says “have a nice day” or “have a good evening”. Tally the tickets, and Voila!!! A more “representative” percentage!!!!

Not to mention proportionate to driving around with poorly maintained, smog spewing vehicles.
How in hell are the cops gonna fill their quotas?.......................

That’s because they’re five times more likely to be speeding, or running red lights, etc.
Let people die rather than annoy minorities and lose their votes. The politicians have betrayed the normal people and allowed crime and terrorism to increase with the direct result that normal people die.
And lots of $$$!
