Six people have been arrested after federal agents seized more than 1.7 tons of drugs stashed inside audio speakers that were being shipped from Long Beach to Australia.

The shipment included 3,810 pounds of methamphetamine, along with 56 pounds of cocaine and 11.5 pounds of heroin, federal authorities said.

Officers with U.S. Customs and Border Protection seized three shipping containers containing the drugs on Jan. 11 at the Los Angeles/Long Beach seaport.

1.7 tons of meth...

In my opinion, you should be charged with mass murder for transporting all that

So, drugs came up from SA countries, through our porous border to the docks in Long Beach, for further shipment to Australia for nefarious purposes?

Maybe Australians (and every OTHER corner of the globe) needs to start screaming for a WALL at our southern border?

Just askin’...

I think it’s Malaysia that makes arrested drug couriers personally take IN ONE GO all the drugs they’re caught with:

It’s a de-facto Death Sentence, of course.

Singapore automatically hangs them.

That’ll teach them to come through the ports of entry.

It makes no sense to me that they smuggled all these drugs in only to smuggle them out. Somewhere in America this meth is being manufactured. I suspect the other drugs were exchanged in trade for that meth.

That amount indicates high volume trafficking so they should be given the Singapore treatment.

I am always fascinated by these multi million or multi Billion dollar Drug Busts, just like the current El Chapo trial.

NOBODY ever asks about the US BANKERS that are Laundering All this Cash for the Cartels?? If I was on a Jury I would be asking why the BANKERS Are not on Trial also.

I assume you are using the term ‘bankers’ loosely here.

ALL US Currency goes through the Federal Reserve corporation, a Privately Held Institution, in the end, you can NOT just make Billions of Dollars in CASH Deposits without Government Officials and Bankers being intricately involved.

Is there an estimate of the total value of illicit drugs in the US each year? With that amount of cash, the corruption among our “leaders” must be common. Pathetic.

I would not assume the drugs were necessarily manufactured in the US.

However, I would assume there would be less scrutiny at the port in Australia of a container loaded at the port of Long Beach than of containers coming directly from Mexico or other central and southern American countries.

Maybe the meth was manufactured in the US. However, I would suspect the meth was manufactured in Mexico and smuggled into the US on common truck carriers through Tijuana or on smaller vessels/boats.

Just curious, but just WHAT DOES THE GOVERNMENT DO with all these seized drugs?
