Republican Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell announces he is “especially proud” of passage for his amendments requiring the U.S. military to continue operations in Afghanistan and Syria:
The bill passed 77-yea, 23-nea. [Vote Tally Here] The only Republican who voted against perpetual war in the middle east and supported President Trump was Rand Paul.
Every time this happens victims of battered conservative syndrome start a process of reconciling the reason for their abuse by excusing and justifying their abuser, Mitch McConnell.
Let’s be clear, CTH has watched this process, on a very granular level, for well over a decade; specifically about Senator McConnell. Mitch McConnell doesn’t give a hoot what any voter, constituent, or member of the national electorate thinks about his action. He is entirely unfazed and bound to a power ideology that sets him above all considerations.
Senator Mitch McConnell, just like all of the power brokers within the DC beltway, views himself as your ruler. Until we purposefully accept the nature of this abusive relationship nothing will change, ever. Reminder…
Senate Leader Mitch McConnell has one major career alliance that has been unbroken and unchanged for well over two decades. That alliance is with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and specifically with CoC President Tom Donohue.
Mitch McConnell is stealthily working against the efforts of President Donald Trump. The effort is to support his primary Wall Street financial benefactor, Donohue. However, Mitch McConnell cannot directly be connected to underhanded efforts against President Trump because it would lead to: (A) questions about a confrontation; and (B) public exposure. [ex. think about how McConnell is blocking President Trump from recess appointments]
To remind ourselves how Minority and Majority Senator McConnell took down the threat of the Tea Party revisit these old articles: CNN Part Iand CNN Part II both showcase how McConnell works. Then do some research on how McConnell worked with Haley Barbour in Mississippi [SEE HERE].
Yes, Democrats are the opponents. However, the far more urgent MAGA enemy is Mitch McConnell….
As far as he [McConnell] is concerned, it is o.k. for your love ones to shed their blood over there, but not his. His will be reaping and enjoying the profits from the blood of your love ones. From this point forward, his hands are just as bloody as the Democrats.
Yep. That’s the McConnell I’ve been telling folks he was.
Some refused to believe it for quite a while.
Well, this is reality.
That's exactly what I was thinking.....
Like to choke that miserable turtle neck but I’d need three extra pair of hands!
GRRRRRR!!!!
Agree. This guy swings with whomever is in the majority. Loser.
What the bill does
The Strengthening Americas Security in the Middle East Act would institute several measures related to that region, including:
Reauthorize a cooperation agreement the U.S. struck with Jordan in 2015: a three-year deal to streamline defense sales, secure the countrys borders with Iraq and Syria, and fight ISIS.
Authorizing sanctions against the regime of Bashar al-Assad in Syria unless several conditions are met conditions which are unlikely to be met, such as releasing political prisoners and no longer targeting civilian populations.
Extend an existing loan guarantee program with Israel through 2023, while increasing protections for state and local governments that refuse to invest in or contract with companies which boycott Israel.
At least 26 states have passed laws banning their contractors from boycotting Israel. This includes blue states like California and New York, red states like Texas and Alabama, and all six swing states that flipped from Obama in 2012 to Trump in 2016.
There’s zero Constitutional authority for congress to order a President to wage an undeclared war. Period.
His kids are girls and Democrats and probably hate him.
He might rather have a son and grandson serving than what he does have.
Not being argumentative, but the world is a different place since Eisenhower referred to the MIC.
With a rapidly emerging China - and I agree our current position makes them look amateurish - it may be time to think of maintaining a vibrant, research-focused MIC.
Obviously, we also need to better protect our national secrets from blatant mishandling by opportunists and progressives.
And here I thought POTUS had effectively Killed off the BHO/HRC/Kerry Arab Spring and thereby reinstating Assad to control by proxy.
>>> When President Trump’s term(s) is/are complete, the GOP will become a permanent minority, unless- you and your fellow backstabbers find your spines, testicles, and integrity (which is a huge stretch) and support the president. But we already know the goal and outcome, don’t we? <<<
Sent via the infamous tweet vector earlier today.
I’m afraid it’s too late.
Send a couple of wake-up calls from Vandenberg AFB to Kabul.
That should be a sufficient incentive to adjust their behavior.
They are keeping the drugs flowing.
Afghanistan is a failed nation, ruled by by 3rd world savages, whose only export is opium. Theres no sense of spilling any more American blood and treasure there. PDJT is right on the money.
The Turtle is a fool. He is friends with a fool from Texas who should be replaced,Sen John Cornyn.
While not absolutely every last legislator is perfectly aligned quite yet, we already basically have a core Marxist communist party (Democrat Party), and a core socialist party (Republican Party).
I don’t have time at the moment to research this out, but without an actual Congressional “Declaration of War”, I am not sure Congress can constitutionally force the military to disobey an “Executive Order” from the Commander in Chief. Additionally, when there is a Congressional “Declaration of War”, the objective has to be lawfully defined, and our DoD is obligated/bound to win it at all cost. I would have to read what they have actually voted for here, but I think we may have another significant Constitutional problem.
Now if Trump caves, and goes along, this will create another significant loss of executive authority, and further damages constitutionally defined “division of powers”.
Constitutionally, between the Judiciary routinely unlawfully taking control of executive authority, and Congress reaching in to strip executive authority, there is great damage taking place.
And Trump hasn’t even broken a single written law, the spirit of a law, or violated any moral or ethical principle, unlike other recent presidents.
Gotta keep the Contractor payments flowing. Trump knows what the scam is as has Rand’s father for decades.
Of course we all know that the turtle boy is a dickweed.
My wife and I were wondering, as we often do, just how long some people can live after they have reached the end of their usefulness?
