No more foie gras in New York City because it’s cruel to force-feed ducks and geese to make their livers tastier? A bill introduced in the City Council by member Carlina Rivera, who represents lower Manhattan, would outlaw its sale, as The Post reported on Monday.
But like many politically correct council brainstorms, it’s not really about humane treatment of animals. It’s a selective-outrage thumb in the eye, or the gullet, of the “rich.” Who eats foie gras except the rich?
Many animals and sea creatures are brutalized before they’re brought to our tables. We ignore it because our lives wouldn’t be the same without the pleasure that meat and fish provide...

Inhumane to stuff a goose and kill it and eat its liver, but perfectly OK to deliver a baby and put it in a plastic bag to die and be sold for parts.
I love fois gras especially they way it’s made at Japanese restaurants. I will miss it.
It’s actually delicious. Very rich, but enjoyable.
They sell foie gras at all of the supermarkets in Spain. If Carlina Rivera came over here and tried to ban it they would force feed her until her liver exploded.
If done carefully, it’s possible to get foie gras without force-feeding the bird. They will naturally stuff themselves in the fall in order to fatten up for winter, provided they get enough outdoor time to notice the seasons are changing.
Choose your butchering time carefully, and you’ll have a nice fatty goose liver to use.

Served in Europe it’s called steak americaine. Said to make healthy immune systems even stronger.
Anyway, Scripture quotes an angel showing apostle Peter all the living things on Earth and bidding him, “Arise, Peter, kill and eat”. Sounds like Divine permission to me.
I had some once that my son brought back from France. Very nice, but not worth the raptures it seems to cause in many.
I read once that if you fed a flock of chickens until they would eat no more, then added a hungry chicken to the flock, it would start eating the food, and the others would join in again.
Maybe that’s the way, if duck and geese are like chickens in that regard. And why shouldn’t they be? I’ve met people exactly like that.

The left will go to war to save an animal and will go to war to kill a baby.
They tried this out in California. Got thrown out in Federal Court as interfering with Federal Law supremacy. You would think that should be enough to deter someone from grandstanding to commit millions of taxpayer dollars that it will cost to defend this law, if passed, in court.
And because of the way the District Court system works, it will wind its way up through several appeals courts... and if the District that covers NYC upholds it, we’ll have a federal case over foi gras!

I mean, I ate some at a special party. I don’t think it’s the type of thing I would consume on a daily basis-unless I was loaded.
