In June, the Trump administration instituted new rules that would allow small businesses and individuals to access health insurance through what the president called association health plans. This would permit certain businesses and the self-employed to band together, even across state lines, to provide coverage for members outside of Obamacares strict rules.
It turns out association health plans have quickly become a solution to many Americans coverage problems, are more affordable than Obamacare, and are helping many get the care they need.
It's time to acknowledge that critics may have misjudged one of the Trump administration's signature health-care policies bigly, writes Washington Post Assistant Editor and Opinions Contributor Robert Gebelhoff.
New reports suggest that much of that fear might be overblown at least for the time being, he continued. As The Washington Post's health policy guru Paige Winfield Cunningham laid out this week, more than two dozen association health plans have been developed since the administration issued its new rule, and so far they don't look nearly as skimpy as experts predicted.
When it comes to these new association health plans, they appear at least so far to offer benefits comparable to most workplace plans and haven't tried to discriminate against patients with preexisting conditions, she continued.
The farm cooperative Land OLakes, which is expanding its association plan to farmers in Nebraska and Minnesota, has said its premiums will cost 25 percent to 35 percent less than plans sold on Nebraskas ACA marketplace, Cunningham noted.

It is a travesty of the highest degree how the media has not reported all the good this president has done.
If we had a decent and honest media, the Left would be out of business in no time. They’d be shunned and rejected.
.....”It is a travesty of the highest degree how the media has not reported all the good this president has done.”.....
So it’s obvious then that the media has no concern whatsoever about the public other than their ratings and profits. Surely not about the people as they soooo often claim they are there to keep us informed.
No one notices when the job is getting done.
Our media hates America
But we know....and it’s up to us to get it out to those around us.
Yes.
Weak...should have just killed the ACA off (Obamacare) in the 1st 2 years of his term (too buddy-buddy with Paul Ryan). The wife & I are left w/o any options for health insurance after “early” retirement (until age 65). Going to have to do a “Christian Health Share”. A quick search doesn’t reveal any “Association Health Plans” being offered for individuals/couples on the West Coast (state regulators still have power over these “AHP’s” according the the “FAQ” below...probably severely restricting them).

It wouldn’t matter if the plans were skimpy, or even barred preexisting conditions — if their members want skimpiness in return for lower rates. If the government doesn’t like skimpiness, or wants to mandate universal admission, it can subsidize the cost. At least the cost of the extra benefits (sex changes abortions, pills for everything, etc.) would be out in the open for the taxpayers to evaluate, rather than hidden
“If we had a decent and honest media”
The left would not exist
The ACA kills about 300 Americans a day.
It is why US life expectancy has declined 3 years in a row. This has not happened in 100 years
Right. As I said in my post:
“If we had a decent and honest media, the Left would be out of business in no time. Theyd be shunned and rejected”.

sorry skimmed - which is as bad or worse than freeper tradition of not reading chuckles
Thanks caww.
No problem. I’m guilty of skimming, too.
Regards-
I think I is more accurate to say their goal is to destroy america.
Wow, if Obama had done this, the press would really be making a big deal out of it.
Wonder if there’s a list of these plans/providers somewhere. I’m looking but not having much luck. Mostly negative msm articles
I’d be interested in such a list too. Right now I’m getting reamed by an ACA bronze policy. Really what I’d like is a “skimpy” catastrophic policy since I rarely go to the doctor and don’t take any prescriptions, etc. I just want something to that’ll keep me from bankruptcy if I get hit by a bus or something. I’ve found it nearly impossible to find a simple listing of reputable insurers who offer relatively inexpensive plans in my state.
