~The FReeper Canteen Presents~

Road Trip: Camp Bullis, Texas

bullis1

Camp Bullis Military Training Reservation is a U.S. Army training camp comprising 27,990 acres in Bexar County, Texas, USA, just northwest of San Antonio. Camp Bullis provides Base Operations Support and Training Support to Joint Base San Antonio. The camp is named for Brigadier General John L. Bullis.

Camp Bullis and Camp Stanley make up the Leon Springs Military Reservation. Camp Bullis is used primarily as maneuvering grounds for U.S. Army, Air Force and Marines combat units. It is also utilized as a field training site for the various medical units stationed at Brooke Army Medical Center in nearby Fort Sam Houston.

bullis6

JBSA services more DOD students than any other installation, more active runways than any other installation, houses the DOD's largest hospital and only level one trauma center, supports more than 250,000 personnel, including 425 retired general officers, and interfaces with 1,000 civic leaders of San Antonio, 20 smaller communities, four counties and four Congressional Districts.

bullis5

Its total plant replacement value is about 10.3 billion with an annual budget of $800 million. Despite its uniqueness in setup, the 80,000 members who belong to JBSA are making a difference, not only in San Antonio, but for the nation...accomplishing diverse training, flying, medical, cyber, intelligence and installation missions every day.

bullis3

The Soldier Medic Training Site (SMTS) is located at Camp Bullis, Texas. It is designed to simulate conditions that new soldier medics are likely to face while deployed to current areas of conflict.

The staff is composed primarily of non-commissioned officers that have been medics for at least five years and soldiers that have been deployed to combat.

Howdy, PRO.

Glad that 6 inches of snow is up there and not down here. LOL! We have three 70+ degree days ahead. Lovin’ that!
But it’s gonna hurt when we don’t get out of the 30s on Friday.

Howdy, Kathy.

Another free-for-all Monday at work?

I see you got a little snow since the last time I checked the cams around town.

It sounds like they’re giving him some GOOD stuff! LOL!!!
When he gets his senses about him again, he might have to do a little fast talkin’ about that Caribbean lady. *snicker*

It’s hard to keep a good man down and they’re going to have their hands full with him. It’s so good to know he’s doing better and prayers continue that his recovery keeps going at a speedy pace.

Howdy, LUV.

It’s been a good enough day. We weren’t as warm as y’all were but mid-60s was plenty good enough. Three days of 70+ lie ahead but we’ll have a decent amount of rain with two of them.
Then we don’t get out of the 30s on Friday. OUCH!

Bet your kittehs are enjoying your nice weather. They love soaking up heat. >^..^<

They sure have enjoyed it. All of them. Peaches is still out and Ginger even stayed out for a while this evening. I wanted to stay out longer too, but didn't. I can see tiny buds on our trees. Boy are they going to get a shock if we have a late freeze! LOL!

Enjoy that warmth while you can! The ol' roller coaster 🎢 is still at it!

With it that warm, Peaches might want to STAY out tonight. LOL
How are the booboos on his ear and under his eye doing? I hope they didn’t fester.

We ARE enjoying the warmth. Friday will hurt but it will warm back into 50s and a day or two in the 60s until the middle of next week. I do worry about the trees budding, though, because we’ll have plenty more cold days between now and Spring. It’s happened before and really put a hurtin’ on the trees.

A very pleasant good Tuesday morning and ((HUGS)) to everyone at the Canteen and to all our military at home and abroad. Thanks for your service to our country and thanks Lauren for this morning's thread.

How's everyone doing this morning?

His booboos are looking really good. I guess I got the antibiotic on there just in time. I didn’t do many doses, but maybe they make cat meds in a way that covers when you can’t stop them from squirming. LOL!

We have bulbs coming up. I didn’t realize that till today when i walked around the yard a bit. I was trying to break off old daisy stems that had dried out and the bulbs are coming up all around them.

Hope you can enjoy the warm days on the way. Maybe some of your outside kitties can actually take a stroll for a change. Did you get much work done?

Did you and Gizmo have another fine day at the lake? Have it more to yourselves since most folks were back at work yesterday?

Good evening, radu...any warming up yet? Progress at the other house?

We had a bit of snow over the last couple days and they are now saying maybe a couple inches over tonight. We will see. They haven’t been too often right lately.

WHEW! Glad his booboos are doing so well. He usually isn’t that lucky.

You aren’t the only one with bulbs coming up. Some daffodils are up here but their leaves come up early any way. Now to see if this warm spell makes them shoot up buds.

We haven’t been letting the cats go out even during warm spells for a little while now. We have coy-dogs in the area and they’re out during the daytime. Hubby keeps a gun at the garage when he’s working out there because those varmints are so brazen.

I actually see progress at the other house. LOL! Almost have everything packed. Now if Hubby would get the boxes and bags that are packed out of there, the progress would REALLY show.
Then I get to tackle the garage. It’s crammed full of stuff too. Most is boxed but I have to go through each box to see what’s in them.

Hey there, Kathy!

Yes, we’re enjoying some nice weather this week, though it’ll get wet a couple of days. Might even get a thunderstorm or two. Light shows! LOL

I saw there’d been a little snow when I checked your cams earlier this evening. You need more so the streets won’t be quite as slick.
