In its Monday story, the Washington Post acknowledged investigating the claims and deciding not to publish. But it said the Fairfax statement incorrectly claimed the paper found significant red flags and inconsistencies within the allegations.
Fairfax and the woman told different versions of what happened in the hotel room with no one else present, the paper said. The Washington Post could not find anyone who could corroborate either version.
The Washington Post didnt name the accuser. But the paper said Fairfax and the woman met first met in Boston at the 2004 Democratic National Convention.
Growing calls for Virginia Gov. Northam to resign over racist yearbook photoVideo The woman described a sexual encounter that began with consensual kissing and ended with a forced act that left her crying and shaken, The Washington Post reported. She said Fairfax guided her to the bed, where they continued kissing, and then at one point she realized she could not move her neck. She said Fairfax used his strength to force her to perform oral sex.

Accountants and economists already have difficulty defining “income” properly. Defining “wealth” is even more difficult.
I cant believe there's were no hotel video of Fairfax (married in 2006) escorting her to his room....
plus guys of his ilk are known to brag about their conquests. Must be pals of his that know plenty.
FAIRFAX MAKES HIS MOVE The woman said the married father of two, Fairfax, got her to go to his hotel room to get some papers by telling her
they had a "mutual friend"........that initial move underlines the married Fairfax is a real operator. He's done that before.
REALITY CHECK: When the girl innocently agrees to go to his hotel room, the male ego translates this into "she's hot for me".
When she balked at sex, the married Fairfax's male ego went into overdrive .....he could not take rejection so he attacked her.
WASH/PO REPORTS The married father of two, Fairfax, and the woman first met at the 2004 Democratic National Convention in Boston.
He got her to agree to go to his hotel room.......he had plans she could never have dreamed of.
She described a sexual encounter with the married father of two that began with consensual kissing.......
and ended with the married Fairfax man forcing her into a sexual act that left her crying and shaken.
THE MARRIED FAIRFAX FORCES ORAL SEX ON HIS VICTIM The Washington Post reported: Fairfax (father of two, married in 2006)
guided her to the bed, where they continued kissing, and then, at one point, she realized she could not move her neck."
"She said Fairfax used his strength to force her to perform oral sex.
So Northam, an accused and seemingly verified racist, may refuse to quit on the basis that if he does, Fairfax, an accused rapist will take his job as Governor of Virginia.
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
OR there is more “afoot”, a longer game plan ... the “dirtying up” of Fairfax is in progress .....

My wife is very understanding of me privately meeting other women in my motel room.
If the woman and I had different stories about what happened, she would believe my version, of course.
When I was single, I privately met with other women coworkers in my hotel room to discuss business topics.
My boss would have thought there was nothing wrong about such a meeting and would have believed my version of what went on.

If only the news industry had been willing to post the details of Juanita Broaddrick’s story prior to the election of 1992, instead of covering it up...
“Probably the same sort of thing here. And, in 2004, Fairfax wasnt famous. Probably not worth the effort to pursue a he said/she said without the stain. And, even with it, whats proven?”

I dunno about that. When you check into her background online she has liberal creds that would be hard for the left to dismiss her very easily:

They’re pretty smart over there at the Kos ! Can’t pull one over on them.
Famous or not, if you are raped, you report it. Even if the police investigate and can’t confirm either story, the record is there. So when the man runs for office (many years later) and the woman comes forward, at least there is some record to confirm that the complaint is not politically motivated.
What nobody is reporting is how Fairfax has been treated by the state Democratic Party. If the GOP did this to a black Republican there’d be riots.
Their minds grind exceedingly slow, but once in a great while one of them has an epiphany.
:D
It was Rape-Rape.
Did Silly Gilly Gillibrand call for the Lt. Governor to resign yet?
Since when have they felt the need to "corroborate" a news story?
OK this is just too much. Didn’t the evil media gleefully publish Blase Ford’s allegations even though there was zero corroboration and even some denials? What happened to #BelieveWomen?
If a woman is being forced to perform oral sex, does the thought of BITING never enter her mind?
I guess it is the same as reporting the incident afterward to law enforcement.
Honestly, it sounds like another woman changing her mind after giving consent.
After all, they met at a Dem Convention.
Incidentally, I believe her. My comment was that she would have had a hard time proving her take on the story back then absent some other evidence, like bruising. But, now, there's the court of public opinion.
If BOTH Northam and Fairfax go, this is reminiscent of the departure of Nixon and Agnew, but on the State level.
If both of them go, Who becomes the governor of Virginia? The Speaker?
Well, part of this story is the Washington Post spiking a salacious item for a Democrat that they would run with in a minute for a Republican, so there's a little bit of gloat in the subtext.
