Artificial intelligence (AI) may be poised to wipe out cervical cancer, after a study showed computer algorithms can detect pre-cancerous lesions far better than trained experts or conventional screening tests. . . . . .
The AI technique, called automated visual evaluation, found precancerous cells with 91 per cent accuracy, according to a report published in the Journal of the National Cancer Institute. In comparison, a human expert review found 69 per cent of pre-cancers, while conventional laboratory tests such as Pap smears found 71 per cent.
Among women aged 25 to 49, who face the highest risk of cervical cancer, the AI algorithm was even more accurate, finding 97.7 per cent of pre-cancerous cells.

Your question is being asked by many that see millions of jobs automated away over the next decade or so. One thought is to tax the robots/machines and use that money to provide a basic income to displaced workers.
Now..if only AI can find the 30 million illegals in the country!
I will even settle for finding the 10 most wanted by FBI.
I bet my bottom dollar AI robots will refuse to fix a clogged toilet bowl.
“Now solve the biggest problem of them all. What do you do with the not-insignificant portion of the population that cant do high level things?”
Not to worry! The RAT Party is going to pay all those people to vege out their entire lives on “other people’s money!” I mean they just have to take 70 to 90% of the “rich people’s money,” and ergo, the problem is solved. You didn’t know that?
That’s a good answer, and it may very well come to that, if the socialists/communists don’t get their way. Well done.

give them a bunch of hard-left policy directives and see how they perform
Apparently, the early positive reporting of successful cancer sniffing canines was overly optimistic. Follow-up testing was not encouraging-

We will still need Plumbers, Heating/Air, auto mechanics, and those AI systems will need a IT repair person.
Unless a EMP brings the whole thing grinding to a halt.
And what about those humans who are not capable of doing high level things for high pay?At some point, automated systems will outperform humans at a great many, if not most, tasks. This should free up human resources to do high level things for high pay. - marktwain
What we may find ourselves encountering, is an increasing percentage of the human population not being able to do anything that would pay enough to feed them.
Logically, if AI computers do all the work superbly and extremely efficiently, the cost of human needs plummets. Computers become Shmoos.
You have it right.
But there are always limits.
Real estate becomes very expensive, I would think.
And what are the owners of the AI computers going to do, when people call for their "excess" profits to be "redistributed"?
AI computers will be cheap. AI computers will help make AI computers cheaper.
