Who needs to drive in freezing cold temperatures anyway?
Hunker down and shelter in place.
Or telecommute.
Or rely upon public transportation.
Or walk/bike.

a severe internal moisture problem that fogged up all windows when it was coldCold air generally has lower moisture. If you bring some inside where it's warmer, its relative humidity drops, which lessens the condensation on the inside of the windows.
He may have had the ventilation system set to recycle interior air. Any wet in the carpet and breath of passengers condenses on the glass. It needs to be traded with outside air. Yes, it's colder but it just takes longer for the heater to warm things up.

You have to remember something about Tesla Owners. Tesla Owner’s are the company’s defacto sales force. Tesla owners get HUGE credits for referral sales. Not a coffee cup, or a new jacket, we’re talking thousands and thousands of dollars of super charger time, and Big Big discounts on new purchases.
That policy just ended this month, so you can expect to see more honest reviews in the near future.
Tesla owners also have to sign NDA’s for most warranty repair, and their resale values are subsidized.

I had just gotten to the DC side of the 14th street bridge when the plane hit on the Virginia side. As I was sitting in the car headed in to DC and you could make out the glow of overhead streetlights but you couldn’t actually see them through the snow and overcast.
Half an hour later a train on the Blue/Orange line derailed and metro into Virginia stopped running. Route 50 was heavily iced over and barely moving.

Many don’t know it but a Tesla, has a Battery Heater on during cold weather. A battery heater, heat the battery with it’s own power? That’s like eating your own $hit.

Let’s see.. buy an electric car to save the planet and plug it into a power source probably run by fossil fuels.
Idiots...

And gas-powered vehicles have no problem when its -30° outside?

A friend emailed me a link to this. My response:
Haha. The Tesla, and all electric vehicles for that matter, is a toy and should be treated as such. An expensive toy.
Piston driven gasoline swallowing... now THAT'S transportation.

My 15 year old Chevy Suburban provided comfort and reliability regardless of the weather. Unfortunately neither it nor my house survived the Central Texas flood last year.

Electronics are very reliable under harsh conditions, even the temperatures you mentioned. In fact, they are probably the least-likely part of a vehicle to have problems.

People are in live [love] with their SUVs and Pick-up trucks.
I’ve noticed there are not that many sedans on the morning and evening commute just hordes of SUVS and PUs - both of which are expensive and burn a lot of gas compared to sedans.

Judging from what I see at 20 degrees above, EVs become uncomfortable enough for whatever reason that owners don’t drive them much unless they have to.

That 2002 started easily in -30°F, and the 2017 easily started in the -19°F temps we just had. It's a tropical 47°F out there now.

I’ve started a car (a diesel,in fact) in -40F and -30F.For at least an hour after starting the car felt like, and sounded like,a truck. But although I’m no expert it’s not tough to see why very cold weather would effect *any* battery powered car.

Who are you calling old timer?
Just last month there was a beautiful young woman knocking on my hotel room door all night! I finally had to let her out.
