Photos of Northam at medical school show him standing with a man in the same plaid pants as the KKK-blackface photo.
Here is a Northam friend in the plaid pants in a regular college shot — And then in the blackface shot.
The pants were featured in another Northam college shot.
Ralph Northam is on the left.
But the man on the right is wearing the same plaid pants as the blackfaced fellow in the yearbook.
"Keith Matthews is the plaid pants. Northam is taller than him. He can't be the KKK guy. Whatever. I just roll with it. Drama for them is fine by me."

Blazers typically have padding in the shoulders. The blackface guy is a wearing a blazer and his arms aren’t dangling at his side.
That’s what I noticed ... really steep slope to shoulders whereas the guy in blackface has very “squared off” shoulders.
Regardless, Northam is DESPERATE to ‘not’ be tagged in the media/public’s opinion as the guy in the KKK outfit. The whole Michael Jackson blackface incident recounted, even if true, was to give/leave the impression that he is the one in blackface, IMO.
What better way to get baby murder off the front pages than a manufactured brouhaha about nothing that happened decades ago?
Is the guy in the plaid pants Keith Matthews or Terry (?...last name not visible) ...looks like he is Terry (?) to me???

Gateway is using the same kind of photo comparisons here that reddit has used to out Antifa thugs.
But I guess when that process isn’t useful to someone’s story line it’s to be ignored.
Even in the 80s, even for “fun,” this was a racist pic. So even if this is his hilarious pic of his best friend and date in racist costume, why put it on his yearbook page? Clearly he curated the page. No medical school will choose random photos of each student for their yearbook page. It might not be him but a) it doesn’t make sense and b) at first the guy apologized for posing for that photo.
I think the blackface that he admits to was dressing as Michael Jackson.
And now this poor slob Matthews is going to have his life ruined, thanks to a 35 year old photo.
It was already sussed out on twitter last night. Not the same pants. And if that were ‘Keith’(the little guy) in black face, that would make the guy in the KKK costume about 5’ tall.
I agree with you. Ralph Northam is 6 foot. If Ralph was the klansman, it would mean the black face guy was about 6.3 or 6.4.
I think the klansman is the guy wearing the plaid pants in the high school picture. He seems short - like the klansman.
Also, the pants on the blackface guy seem tight. In the high school picture, they seem lose. Is it possible that Ralph borrowed the pants for the picture?

In listening to WRVA (Richmond ABC-affiliate radio station) wall-to-wall Northam coverage yesterday afternoon; one of the more observant commentators mentioned he believes, based upon the general features, that the “blackface guy” actually is an “African American.” I think he may be right; looking at the hands/nails/eyelids/lips and general features ...hard to get all those tonalities right w/just makeup.
