Donald J. Trump was burning through cash. It was early 2016, and he was lending tens of millions of dollars to his presidential campaign and had been spending large sums to expand the Trump Organization’s roster of high-end properties. To finance his business’s growth, Mr. Trump turned to a longtime ally, Deutsche Bank, one of the few banks still willing to lend money to the man who has called himself “The King of Debt.”

Why is this even news?

And why is no reporter interested in what Hillary Criminal did with the $145 million in Russian linked cash she stuffed in her pockets while a sitting Secretary of State.

A Trump Organization spokeswoman, Amanda Miller, denied that the company had needed outside funding for Turnberry.

“This story is absolutely false,” Ms. Miller said. “We bought Trump Turnberry without any financing and put tens of millions of dollars of our own money into the renovation, which began in 2014. At no time was any money needed to finance the purchase or the refurbishment of Trump Turnberry.”

So the named source contradicts all the unnamed sources.

“Orange Man Bad!” That is all the motivation that the American Soviet Media Complex needs for a story.

He had good credit, which is why they loaned him a total of a couple billion over the years. If they dropped him, it was a political decision, not economic.

What the NYT is leaving out is that Deutsche Bank is known to have provided cover for Putin and his Russian billionaire pals, and the US government was trying to establish a connection between Trump and Putin via Deutsche Bank.

Here’s a story about DB and friends of Putin:

Isn’t Deutsche Bank in some sort of trouble...and didn’t two or three of it’s executives commit suicide a couple of years ago?

Gee, I remember a certain ex-President, and his wannabe President-wife, who couldn't secure a home mortgage loan on their own after they exited the White House, and had to rely on cronies to help them out.

"When former White House chief of staff Erskine B. Bowles at the last minute balked at guaranteeing a $1.35 million mortgage for the Clintons' new house in Chappaqua, N.Y., McAuliffe rode to the president's rescue."

Re: “What does this have to do with anything?”

The House Democrats have previously stated that an investigation of the Trump-Deutsche Bank business relationship is one of their top priorities.

My guess - Democrats have Deutsche Bank insiders who will testify in Congress.

I assume the DOJ has decided - or previously decided - that whatever happened did not rise to the level of a crime.

However, it will give Democrats and the MSM another opportunity to attack Trump's character and honesty - for the next two years!
