The Cops Were the Aggressors in This Week's Deadly Houston Drug Raid
Reason ^ | 1-29-19 | Jacob Sullum

On Monday evening in Houston, a dozen armed men broke into the home of Dennis Tuttle and Rhogena Nicholas, a middle-aged couple who had lived in the house at 7815 Harding Street for at least two decades. The first man through the door, who was armed with a shotgun, used it to kill one of the couple's dogs. Tuttle responded to the home invasion by grabbing a revolver and shooting the man with the shotgun, who collapsed on a sofa in the living room. As Nicholas tried to disarm the intruder, his accomplices shot her. Tuttle returned fire, and by the end of the shootout he and his wife were both dead. Four of the assailants were hit by gunfire, while a fifth injured his knee.

The police state EASILY could have arrested Stone by other means as well as these two Houston residents. The last time I checked we are innocent until proven guilty. BTW, the left called these two in Houston the face of “white terrorism”.

You’ll get no argument from me. Other than in a hostage type situation I don’t think a no-knock raid is ever justified.

They came in and killed a dog. The police look like they murdered those 2 for some other motive.

I find this to be disturbing. No black tar heroin found. No reports of heroin paraphernalia such as syringes, burnt spoons, baggies, scales.

If I were these peoples relatives, I'd be demanding an inquiry and toxicology tests of the deceased. What evidence did the cops have to obtain the no-knock warrant?

Lotsa questions in my mind. I'm not saying the cops were wrong, what I am saying....something doesn't add up here.

Anyone harming one of our dogs is a dead person walking. The only open questions are where, when, and how.

Well, obviously there was a gun, because they were shot by the homeowners.

Also, obviously, their no-knock raid didn’t succeed at it’s intended function, which is to surprise the occupants so you don’t get shot.

The problem was they started by shooting the unarmed dog, instead of pointing the guns at the people and announcing “Police, hands up”.

They lost control of the situation.

Name one country that has legalized all recreational drugs. You won't find one. Why do you think that is?

Annhauser-Bush, Seagrams, Bayer, and the AMA don't like competition or loss of control and profits from their oligarchy.

Most of the ills you speak of are also created by folks that are addicted to alcohol. The remaining societal consequences are created by the stuff only being available on the black market, unless you have the coin and contacts in the medical community to get a prescription.

So, breaking down the door and immediately shooting the dog is OK in your book? that’s not serving a warrant. That’s breaking in and shooting a dog. Oh wait, I forgot: we’re all supposed to know by now that when someone breaks into your house and shoots your dog, you should assume they are the police.

1) Plainclothes officers breaking down the door. That’s just begging to be shot.

2) Claiming to be police officers while simultaneously breaking down the door. That’s not announcing themselves, that just creating confusion and acting like home invaders.

Anyone who thinks those two acts constitute “good police procedure” is an idiot. At best.

Act like criminals, look like criminals, get killed like criminals.

Well, obviously there was a gun, because We the People are armed.

Cops had best learn to mind their manners.

Nonsense. Harder drugs are far more dangerous than alcohol and would kill far more if legal.

Where is the PROOF they were selling?

There was enough evidence to get a search warrant. That they started shooting when police tried to enter their premises is evidence that they were guilty of something or paranoid.

When someone in plain clothes comes busting through your door and immediately opens fire you really don't have time to sort those niceties out.

The police didn't knock first? I assume that they did. I also assume they announced that they were police officers before kicking the door in.

There was certainly proof they possessed illegal drugs and that, alone, gave police the right to enter:

https://abc13.com/disabled-veteran-and-wife-killed-in-shootout-with-police/5110865/

Police recovered two shotguns and three rifles from the residence and seized marijuana and a white powder they believe to be either cocaine or the powerful synthetic opioid fentanyl, Acevedo said.

Be real interested in what research there is to back up that claim.

Add up drunk driving deaths, cirrhosis, early onset alcohol dementia, lung cancer, COPD, kidney disease, and coronary disease, our legal dope has quite a tally. This includes the five close family members I have seen check out from alcohol and tobacco induced.

If our current system were adjusted to make legal all the idiotic ways people poison themselves or otherwise ruin their one and only life, my relatives would still be dead, but these people in Houston would still be alive. So would their dog.

We have about 4x the number of cops than what would be tolerated by a free society.

Nonsense. Drug traffickers and hard drug users, as prove by these two losers, are threat to the lives of officers trying to apprehend them.

Plain clothes officers conduct no knock entry.

Don’t think they were plain clothes. I suspect they were in
full gear, shields, etc. battering ram, weapons drawn,

Did you not read the article and the other stories about this incident? They served a "no knock warrant", which is SOP for Law Enforcement these days.
