Paul, R-Ky., was awarded $375,000 in punitive damages and $200,000 for pain and suffering, plus $7,834 for medical expenses.
SEN. RAND PAUL TO UNDERGO HERNIA SURGERY IN CANADA AFTER ATTACK BY NEIGHBOR
The lawmaker was violently attacked by his neighbor, Rene Boucher, in November 2017 while he was mowing his lawn. Paul was tackled from behind and suffered six broken ribs, including three displaced fractures. His recovery was complicated by fluid and blood around the lungs and recurrent pneumonia.

You are completely wrong but I will stick around to see what childish insult you throw at me next.
There is no shame in admitting you are wrong. I’m sure that if I am ever wrong I will own up to it.
“That is great because a judgement debtor cannot discharge an intentional personal injury loss in bankruptcy and the Trustee will sell everything and hand the money to this great Senator.”
The problem will be if he was married, you can’t sell something with his wife’s name on it. The guy may owe it, but you’ll never collect.
See post 26, idiot.
That’s what I would have thought.
So Paul could get a Court order for garnishment, seizure?
If so, hope he takes the neighbor’s house.
Good.
Poor Paul got nearly murdered twice in one year.
Yep. I remember that. I believe it was a garbage
truck parked across the tracks for some reason.
Wonder what the reason was?
Next it was a psycho liberal Democrat that tried to gun
down Republican congressmen on a Virginia ball field.
Now the Democrats have unleashed their psychotic street
theater mob to attack anybody they think is Republican or
conservative or who supports Pres. Trump. The press
gives them all the media support they can, so they fear
on bad PR about their behavior.
I expect an attempt on Pres. Trump at anytime.
They'll go acutely crazy and vicious when RBG dies.
And they will try to torch the White House and any Trump
property if he should win again in 2020. They are that psycho
and insane.
Paul will get the money. His neighbor has plenty.
This was attempted murder pure and simple. The judge who gave the perp just 30 days should be investigated by the FBI to find out who paid him off.
Oh wait, the FBI probably planned and carried out the whole operation. It was totally unprovoked. I see the fingerprints of Soros and the deep state all over this.
Perp shoulda gotten at least 10 years plus another $100 Million in damages at least.
Sen Paul should build a beautiful border wall around his property to prevent this sort of bad neighbor behavior in the future.
The hospital in Canada is world famous and specializes only in hernia operations. People from all around the world travel to this hospital for the top rated service. My own mom had her hernia operation there and she was walking within 5 hours after surgery! Truth. Most world leaders go there too.
I love it that he sued the guy......and that the guy got jail time as well!
I was hoping for Boucher to get 2-3 years in jail and a court ordered psych evaluation and anal probe to find his head.
I’d have backed three years easily.
This guy is a loose cannon, to pull something like that.
I’m glad he got scorched in the monetary verdict.
I generally don’t like punitive all that much, but this uncalled for attack deserved to draw the perp’s blood.
Wonder how smart ass is feeling right now...
I agree.
30 days is a disgrace.
No need to stop being a lady just because you lost the argument.
Not good enough! He only got 39 DAYS for trying to KILL a SENATOR!
$580G is a large award, his lawyer did right by him.
I don’t believe that one can blow off court fines and penalties with a bankruptcy filing
