A hard hitting, scathing editorial from the Albuquerque Journal. Because of excerpt rules, I had to heavily edit it, but there is much more I left out: Drug trafficking by the cartels, the humanitarian crisis in providing shelter and medical care to the hundreds coming across where there are no barriers at all.

Notwithstanding the claims of our new radical left governor, there is a wave of people coming across that must be stopped, not encouraged. The liberal ABQ Journal recognizes this; how long until the new "progressive" Democrats now in charge do??

Americans are pretty much in agreement that the border needs to be walled and secured.

Liberals are putting Mexico’s interests first.

A group of 247 migrants crossed the border illegally in Antelope Wells and turned themselves in to Border Patrol agents just after midnight Jan. 16. The majority of those taken into custody are Central American parents with children and unaccompanied minors, according to Border Patrol. We don’t need another compromise ... we need a solution.

How’s this for a compromise. Everybody from south of the border stay the hell out of my country and I’ll stay the hell out of yours.

Aren’t the ones who are starting out in Central America now going to encounter very cold weather? Are they nuts? I know how cold the deserts get in our country in the winter, they have to be frigid for anyone outside for long. Is the weather that much different where they’re coming from? I don’t know - simply asking! It has to be pretty cold for those still stacked up on the Mexican side of the border at TJ also.

Would someone make copies of this and give it to the New Mexico representatives and senators?

It’s a shame that our government idiots are so incompetent that they can’t even stop a bunch of single digit I.Q. freeloaders from coming in and taking over the country. Geez. What a disgrace. Shut the friggin’ government down again. Those ***holes aren’t doing their jobs. What does ICE do anyway?

Why do we have to compromise our country to fraudulently documented foreigners?

https://www.wthr.com/article/tax-loophole-investigation

Watch this and realize how much illegals take from us taxpayers. Illegals claim many children on their taxes. One claimed 20 kids and 4 families living in his trailer. Turned out he had a wife and one child. He got 30,000 in tax refund. How much do you get?

No, the last thing we need is a compromise. We need to do the job right.

Even Trump's plan is far too limited and while it will help a lot, it will be overall ineffective.

Any compromise with the Democraps and their D.I.A.B.L.O. Republican allies will make it as big a debacle as when we went through this with Reagan 25 years ago.

I am stunned... Never, ever did I think the Journal would print anything like this and says it is the opinion of the paper is the reason for no reporter’s names!

When those of us that live here tried to get politicians and reporters down here in October no one wanted to hear from us. We had a community meeting in November with Border Patrol, local law enforcement, politicians, invited media and the only one that showed up was a documentary reporter. We were stonewalled until very recently and all of the sudden the reporters began to show up out here. The majority of the articles from every source have been at least somewhat fair. We were trying to get the word out, but figured the articles even if written would likely not be factual and be slanted toward the open borders crowd. We had just hoped anything that was printed would cause people to question what is going on.

I guess if I still had rose colored glasses on I would say the reporters trips down here have opened their eyes, but I really have no idea what is happening. I feel like I am dreaming or in the Twilight Zone.

Border staredown – nation needs its dug-in leaders to step up and find an immigration compromise

I think we already HAVE laws.

Why do we NOT enforce them better?

Partner, the Illegal Alien Vermin have been coming thru the New Mexico border since the Border Patrol does not have enough staff to put these Illegal Alien Vermin in jail. Heck there is no Border wall fencing in N.M.

This is why New Mexico has so many Illegal Aliens but some will go up north.

It has been an "Illegal Alien Invasion" for way too long a time. These DemonRats do not mind since these Illegal vermin will vote for the DemonRat party.

There is no compromise with these DemonRat party members since they want to make our POTUS look really bad in these negotiations.

It’s always comprehensive(we all get screwed), compromise(we all cave in) or bipartisan(uniparty-see comprehensive).

It’s never enforce the law.

Thanks for posting this, CedarDave. It has received zero coverage outside of New Mexico. Hopefully the Trump communications staff and GOP will pick up on this.

The Left sees its path to permanent power through the replacement of liberty-favoring Whites by socialism-favoring non-Whites.

It’s already worked in CA, CO and VA.

Drastically reducing legal migration from the third world is even more important than the wall.

(and we’re getting neither)
