Just got home from the services for United States Air Force Veteran Joseph Walker. What a GREAT event it was. I think there were 350 people there. The Air Force was there in force (50), Navy, Marines, Coast Guard, Army (50). 21 gun salute. Took an hour to get out of the cemetery. What a great turnout. Worth the 2 1/2 trip each way!
He wasn’t calling him a liar. Military funerals include a three volley salute with rifles. A 21-gun salute involves cannon and is reserved for Heads of State. The two very different types of honors often are confused.
Well done for all involved.
Not a surprise.
I lived in Killeen, back in the early 1970s.
Good people.
I heard that moochelle wanted to attend but she had to get her toe nails manicured... Those tree branches are a bitch on nails...
Look up the 21 gun salute on the net, it’s meaning
and how it is carried out.
Awesome! Thanks for going! I’m recently retired (as of December 1st) and I was going to go when I read the article but I had my first VA appointment and anyone who’s retired knows you don’t miss those....................
Mine, as well :)
I was feeling a bit down, about the news in general, and this really gave me a happy lift.
I stand corrected on the terminology. I apologize Fhios.
Thanks for attending. It’s good to see my Air Force brother get such a large send off.
Read about this yesterday, knew the bikers would show.
Wonderful of you to have gone! A great send off!
Thank YOU for your service today on our behalf.
Thank you.
For going and for the report.
