H-1B: Oracle favored hiring foreign graduates of U.S. colleges over American grads, feds allege
San Jose Mercury ^ | January 25, 2019 | Ethan Baron

Not only did Redwood City software titan Oracle favor hiring Asians for key departments, it favored non-citizen Asian graduates of U.S. colleges over American graduates, the federal government claimed in a lawsuit.

The Department of Labor alleges in its suit against Oracle that a “vast majority” of the firm’s hires through its college recruiting program were non-citizen visa holders from Asia.

Trump needs to reverse himself and kill H1B and related visa programs as these are only abused to hire foreigners over Americans.

I agree with you. It does concern me that different Government departments are moving in different directions...

Note:

Trump promises changes to H-1B visas, including potential citizenship

The proposal is designed to increase the number of H-1B beneficiaries by 16 percent...but that is huge because like immigration, the true number of people allowed to come here each year e on H-1B and many other related VISAS is quite large.

Maybe this lawsuit is the “ammo” needed for a solid H-1B Reversal?!

This is especially true when so many members of Congress in both parties continue to clamor for expanding foreign guest-worker programs like H-1B and refuse to enact freezes on corrupted visa programs ...

Even if tech companies donate millions to corrupt politicians it's a drop in the bucket compared to what they save in wages by hiring foreigners...and screwing over Americans.

And who was the President of the United States during this period of time? There are 300,000 East Asians living in the Bay Area now. They 99% vote Democrat as family reunification through chain migration is their one political issue.

Artichokegrower, sadly, other departments w/in the Trump administration apparently are planning to increase the numbers...Please see this thread...There is a lot of information noted on the thread.

Time to contact Trump and try to put a stop to this...

Nice list and link.

But I believe from experience that the numbers are low. Since these are one year numbers, the cumulative effect is enormous.

Take this visa issue, and the practice of sending many other jobs overseas for cheaper labor costs and you have a royal screwing of American workers.

This also includes the practice of forcing out the older workforce so they can be replaced by cheaper visa holders and overseas workers.

Wish I knew how get Intel investigated. They are a master of screwing over their workforce.

There is a reason for this. Check out the 10th math exam that all 10th graders have to pass. If you don’t pass the exam, you get put into a vocational track for the 11th and 12th grades.

https://www.google.com/amp/s/m.timesofindia.com/home/education/news/cbse-class-10-mathematics-exam-2018-tips-to-score-good-marks-and-sample-paper/amp_articleshow/63464713.cms

With all due respect,

1. This thread’s article and the lawsuit it discusses put a large focus on the preferential hiring by Oracle of foreign students graduating from US Universities. Student Visas are UNLIMITED BTW...

Extensive articles are available online which discuss US universities’ admission preference for Chinese students because the Chinese will pay full-ride tuition versus the in-state tuition rate for residents...Nice for the university, not so nice for potential students who are US citizens, recent US Citizen-graduates, and US citizen job seekers.

Look up Univ. of Illinois...They actually travel to China to recruit foreign students there. As an Illinois resident, I resent the fact that I am paying to support state universities, yet 1/4 of the STEM seats are going to foreign students versus students of IL residents. Same for US citizens in other states...

2. Regarding your link of bringing in foreign workers who are not graduates of US colleges...Many countries test students in upper primary grades or lower secondary grades to put them on vocational paths...

~~~A. The difference is that both India and China have unlimited supplies of cheap labor whereas other countries which mandate gateway testing (such as Germany, Canada, Poland, and Estonia) don’t.
~~~B. Also, many Indian students are taking subjects where they are not working with hardware or firmware—simply on-line coding—again unlimited supply.

~~~C. If your takeaway is that the Indian workers are superior based on the test they take in 10th grade, then why is it that US workers have to train their replacement Indian workers? Again many articles discuss this...Disney, ComEd are 2 companies that come to mind.
3. Based on the unlimited supplies, foreign workers bring down wages, The number of foreign workers here on H-1B is actually double the official stats because there are numerous exceptions...You can find those in some of my other posts on this thread linking to H-1B Visa threads from earlier this month.
4. Once here in the H-1B Visa system—and it is a system of abuses...The foreign H-1B workers are often basically indentured workers to the company that sponsors them...
The US has modified trade agreements and instituted tariffs to protect the steel industry’s (and other related industries’) jobs....often in name of national security
Why are jobs of IT professionals any less important and safeguarding the intellectual property of of our technology industry any less a matter of national security ??
TFTP - yes they have crippled a whole bunch of us.
More stupidity of the Democrats and the GOP Establishment and their “policies”.
They could NOT care less if you are devastated by the economy, being displaced because you don’t check off some box or fall victim to foreigners.
Just another reason I don’t care for the Booshes nor Pelosi/Schumer types.
I know what they are.
Yes and this really took off under W.
Then, bring in a foreign usurper like Manchurian Candidate Barack Hussein Obama....
[H-1B paperwork makes computer college degrees worthless.]
I can testify to this. 3 of my 4 degrees (if you include tech school) are in one form of CS or another.
PLUS decades of experience.
Those of you who pray, please pray. I found a job less than 5 miles up the road. VERY close. It pays as well or better than some I had. Please pray for the Lord to open that door and make me successful there. I’m looking at another I/T job but it’s downtown. Which is O.K. but this one pays as well or better. Both are GOOD opportunities I think.
The closest one is what I’m hoping for. It has the better cost/payback ratio though the second is almost as good.
You are dead on target. Look At all the convenience stores owned by people from India. Many are pals of China, add Muslims whose stores they bought. The fans of these invaders
need to tell me all about the # of India men in our military. I am damn tired of these foreigners. Few, if any, assimilate. They bring their entire family here and many are on welfare programs. Hell, I saw one owner of a store use his EBT card at Kroger.
