Typical elite democrat, I’ve got mine and I want yours.

I’ve seen public opinion polls of the Bay Area, where housing costs are extreme, that about 1/3 of people have thought of moving out, because of housing, traffic, and other concerns.
If 1/3 of people actually picked up and moved from the Bay Area, or any locale for that matter, housing costs would drop in such an area.
Supply and demand is what drives housing costs. There are other factors such as restrictive zoning, but even that ties in with supply and demand, by restricting the supply side of the supply/demand equation.

is Newsom just suing nonsanctuary cities? where does the state constitution mandate that every community must have low-income housing?

It's not just CA. There are initiatives all over the country to force cities and towns to allow multi-unit mixed income housing.
Anyone think they're safe? It only takes one Judge.

I agree. Do you know whether California cities can have “home rule” and if so is Huntington Beach such a city? If that is the case I believe the city can tell the state to stick it.

Oh, I’m sure Cali is not alone.
Everywhere, liberals and their policies have reached “critical mass” but they still refuse to see or admit their politics are wrong and have a deleterious effect on the populous.
They will never admit that that government isn’t the solution, it’s the problem. They keep thinking another law, another regulation will complete their paradise.

Nothing new about that. Here in Minneapolis/ St Paul the Metropolitan Council does it all the time.

Sue City? Isn't that in Iowa? How did California get into the story? 😂
