President Trump will speak in the Rose Garden about the partial government shutdown at 1:30 p.m ET on Friday -- an indication that a possible short-term deal may have been reached to end the stalemate, even as reports emerged that there is no funding for a border wall in the deal.
"The President will make remarks regarding the shutdown in the Rose Garden today at 1:30pm," Sanders tweeted. It was not immediately clear what Trump would say, but White House officials told Fox News that the situation was still in flux.
Meanwhile, another well-placed source told Fox News that negotiators were close on a continuing resolution to fund the government through February 15th with no funding for the wall. It would mark a significant win for House Democrats, despite Trump saying Republicans would not "cave" just a day earlier.

If he had gotten money, he would have lead with that. Instead he’s trying to put the best spin on what President Pelosi told him.

He said if after 3 weeks he did not get a deal on border security he would declare an emergency and do it.
Democrats won.
They may make minor concessions but the political reality is Trump will never get his wall.
He caved and they have no incentive to give him anything. They’re not afraid of another shutdown,
Whatever Trump is just a half-hearted effort to save face given the Democrats beat him like a rented mule.
Sad. The house has him on the ropes. pelosy’s goal is the election. If Trump doesn’t build, he will lose the election. Also Criminal Hillary is walking around.
He keeps telling us how nice walls are. This speech is repetitious of past speeches. If he doesn’t declare the emergency, he won’t get funding from the house. If he declares, the dems will tie him up in court and in two years the wall will not be built.
I don’t see a path to the wall before the election. Dem mission accomplished. UNLESS he declares and tells the judiciary to stand down as emergencies are not in their purview. But he has acquiesced to the courts for two years.
