Trump didn’t get a dime, this “deal” is a CR for nothing in return but an agreement to draw up a technical plan for a study on border security.
Trump fell for it, he owns it alright.
There is nothing he said that is a cave. People on this board are so weak.
Is a long-term budget deal being signed that permanently rules out a border wall? If not, then what happened?
If this is just a three week thing that gets government bureaucrats and cubicle-dwellers paid, so what?
He can always play the ace and just get the military to build it.

Me too. A three week deal that will not have 1 penny of $5B for any sort of anything that looks like a wall. Which Mexico was supposed to pay for. But then pay for indirectly through the great new USMCA deal. Well, if the savings from the deal are that great and the cost is net-net why not just do it then? What’s the big hold up?

The Govt will reopen for THREE weeks and then what..NOTHING is going to change, we will be back to square 1 in three weeks..I do understand, if I were a Govt worker and without two paychecks I would be pissed..because this wall has nothing to do with them, but honestly what is going to happen in three weeks, NOTHING, we will have this same sh*t all over again

Giving a 2 or 3 week CR is not the end of the world and when PDT has to “reluctantly” force another one it shows he was reasonable, tried to work with them, and the Dims are the problem. Another rush of illegals to the border with some tear gas being hurled and the optics for the Dims gets worse.
Let’s stay optimistic and look to this being part of a long game. If he loses it will be the RINOS that undermined the effort.

Meanwhile for those three weeks, the press is going to be praising Pelosi to the gills, and her popularity will skyrocket.

Which the Dems will tie up in court for years with claims of abusive power, eminent domain issues.... That isn’t going to happen quickly and even if it elevates through the courts, that will take the rest of Trumps term.
