A new excerpt from former White House communications staffer Cliff Sims' new memoir emerged in Vanity Fair, and this one focused on a very special member of President Trump's Team of Vipers: Kellyanne Conway. Sims doesn't appear to be a fan:
As I watched Kellyanne in operation over our time in the White House, my view of her sharpened. It became hard to look long at her without getting the sense that she was a cartoon villain brought to life. Her agenda which was her survival over all others, including the president became more and more transparent. [Cliff Sims, via Vanity Fair]
In the White House, "Kellyanne managed to land a job with no fixed responsibilities" and a huge office, where she could "just dabble in areas that piqued her interest," Sims writes. And one of those interests was leaking, a fact he learned firsthand while drafting a response on her MacBook to Morning Joe calling her out for being two-faced about Trump:
Kellyanne was sitting at her desk texting away. And since her iMessage account was tied to both her phone and her laptop, which she must not have even considered, I could inadvertently see every conversation she was having. Over the course of 20 minutes or so, she was having simultaneous conversations with no fewer than a half-dozen reporters, most of them from outlets the White House frequently trashed for publishing "fake news." [Sims, Vanity Fair]
Conway "bashed" Kushner, Steve Bannon, and Reince Priebus by name and also recounted private conversations with Trump, "talking about him like a child she had to set straight," Sims said. "I was sitting there, watching this, totally bewildered. I was supposed to be writing a statement, defending her against accusations that she had done almost exactly what I was watching her do that very moment." Ooooh “bashing”. Is “bashing” anything like “collusion”? snicker.
No—keeping Never Trumpers high up in his admin has been a disaster for Trump.
Just a bad mistake all around, repeated and sustained.
I don’t believe it either.
Kellyanne worked her @ss off for Trump.
Agree.
This is why most large corporations interview the spouse as well as the candidate for a top job. While the prospective employee may have talent, it speaks volumes about that person by whom they have chose to share life with.
This, frankly, is an outrage. KAC carried on in public as if she was solidly in President Trump’s corner. Shameful.
Well...bye.
It is her job to talk to reporters. And she has been one of Trump's most effective defenders.
Then again, maybe it’s all a farce. Maybe she wants us to think her husband is a whack job and she has this job to get away from him and gives her a nice income.
Nobody knows for sure. I certainly don’t.
“Yeah that was morning joe. Mika and her husband “
I can honestly say that I’ve never seen five seconds of either one of them.
Why are we grabbing this story, hook, line and lies?
Agree. We’ve heads all this before, same BS - different person.
Sims saw an easy way to cash in. Else why didn’t he expose this months ago? Takes a lot of gall to do this and then accuse others of having self interest.
Perhaps it is true.
It would explain a lot.
I have always suspected her, and her hubby, of being a double agent............
Hmmm, who to believe???!!!
Sims is obviously trying to drive a stake between those in the White House. Another snake.
I heard that it was on Drudge as well a few days ago.
People ‘are believing’ for the reasons already outlined above: many here sensed there was something not right about her. Major player in the Trump Administration while at the same time the man she sleeps with trashes the President over and over again.
It’s the Mary Matilin, Captain Cueball nonsense.
And I should believe this....because....?
“...and this one focused on a very special member of President Trump’s Team of Vipers...”
theweek.com sounds like a huge fan of President Trump.
I’m sure their reporting will be honest and unbiased.
March 2018, she told reporter Nicholas Ballasy that President Donald Trump is “a great overall president, like, he did what he said he was going to do and he is doing things he never imagined he would have to, so that’s really hard to do with a staff that was not quite seasoned it’s just sheer force of will and force of personality. I think he’s doing great. He’s doing really great. I can die happy now. I was really worried about it.
I have always liked Mary and I have a dem wife
> Im not buying it. <
Normally, I wouldn’t buy it either. But Conway’s husband bashes Trump constantly. That’s just bizarre. Bizarre. It would be like the spouse of the president of Ford constantly bashing Ford cars.
So yeah, I wouldn’t be surprised if there was some truth in this article.
She was very important to helping Trump get elected.
I am not sure of her true loyalty. She may just consider herself doing her job. I don’t know but her husband sure waves a caution flag.
This is all made-up tripe to sell a book. Kellyanne is solid.
I can’t believe there are so many gullible, pearl-clutching, hand-wringing FReepers.
(and we complain about the Rino’s going wobbly)
