President Trump said late Wednesday that he would deliver his State of the Union address after the ongoing partial government shutdown is over.
"As the Shutdown was going on, Nancy Pelosi asked me to give the State of the Union Address," Trump wrote in a tweet. "I agreed. She then changed her mind because of the Shutdown, suggesting a later date. This is her prerogative - I will do the Address when the Shutdown is over."
Trump clarified earlier statements suggesting he may do an “alternative” State of the Union, writing that he was not seeking an alternative venue because "there is no venue that can compete with the history, tradition and importance of the House Chamber."
"I look forward to giving a “great” State of the Union Address in the near future!" he added.

No matter how HORRIFYINGLY PAINFULLY TRAGICALLY AWFUL it really is, it is a MILLION times worse. Then things get *really* tough. After that, HORRIBLE things happen, and then we REALLY get screwed. Immediately following that, the BOTTOM drops out and we are all DEAD, and THEN things get HARD! Once that happens, it signifies the TOTAL collapse of EVERYTHING, and that’s when the CATASTROPHE starts! It’s the sign of the end of EVERYTHING, but after that, comes the TRAGEDY. Then times get DIFFICULT, and things get WORSE, until it’s EXCRUCIATING, but that’s just the beginning, because after that it’s all PAIN.

Trump is playing chess against Pelosi and the Democrat/Socialist Party, while they are playing checkers against him.
I understand that Trump’s favorite book is “The Art of War” by Sun Tzu: “The supreme art of war is to subdue the enemy without fighting. In regards to his apparent defeat at the hands of Pelosi on giving the SOTU in the House - Trump has many options and venues open to him: For instance, he can accept Rush Limbaugh’s offer as MC and do the speech before a Trump friendly audience of thousands.

WTH? Shows that Trump is caving? Are you kidding? This says to me ...Ok, you want your shutdown, then here it is. And I will as a result, will choose not to conduct the duties of MY office until the shutdown is over.
It puts Trump totally in control and puts the ball in HER COURT and even more pressure on HER to end the shutdown. Also demonstrates to the country how much we really are in peril at this time with an unsecure border — that regular traditions and acts are at this moment, suspended.

Yep, and he does it just before the votes on competing bills in the Senate. If there are any weak kneeded Republicans, this encourages them to go over to the Rats. He needs to explains this decision in detail. If he doesn't, he is cutting his own throat.
this may be more about RBG,than the Wall. Democrats now have a plausible siege plan for delaying a replacement until 2021. Trump better punch back harder like he used to. The public and federal judges will buy into the logic. dad precedent.
