President Trump said late Wednesday that he would deliver his State of the Union address after the ongoing partial government shutdown is over.
"As the Shutdown was going on, Nancy Pelosi asked me to give the State of the Union Address," Trump wrote in a tweet. "I agreed. She then changed her mind because of the Shutdown, suggesting a later date. This is her prerogative - I will do the Address when the Shutdown is over."
Trump clarified earlier statements suggesting he may do an “alternative” State of the Union, writing that he was not seeking an alternative venue because "there is no venue that can compete with the history, tradition and importance of the House Chamber."
"I look forward to giving a “great” State of the Union Address in the near future!" he added.

Trump probably just gave Pelosi and the DEMs one more reason *never* to fund the wall or end the shutdown. The longer this drags on, the less important the SOTU becomes. Honestly, it needs to be either build the wall or start a civil war. But the Right in general has no stomach for a civil war.

“The shutdown won’t end until I get what I want: guaranteed funding for the wall/barrier.”
If he sticks to his demands, IF he sticks to his demands, he will deliver the address with a humiliated Pelosi seated behind him beside Vice President Pence. The House Democrats are cracking.
My feeling is President Trump might even be gracious and not point out that the prolonged shutdown could have been avoided had the Speaker not been so stubbornly determined to score points for the radical left.

Everyone may not listen to the SOTU, but I think many expect it to happen, and biatchlosi will appear as more of as more of an obstructionist than she even does now

No, he didn't. The SOTU speech will still happen. It MIGHT be on a different date than originally planned. That is all that has changed. Calm down.
Nancy has already said that she has EQUAL power with the president. Of course you and I know that she does NOT; however, the MSM are going to play that side of this up BIG.
I'm not saying that not giving the SOTU, right now, is the worst thing, I'm saying that what he said looks like he caved and that that IS going to be played up and BIGLY!
Nancy is NEVER going to give him the money he has asked for, for the wall; not even with all of the TERRIBLE concessions he has already put on the table!
He should have just kept quiet on this, for now.
