Mike Barnicle was conducting a humdrum conversation about the shutdown with Dem Sen. Sherrod Brown on Wednesday's Morning Joe when—out of the blue—Barnicle dropped this bombshell:
"Let me ask you: do you think that Donald J. Trump presents a clear and present danger to our democracy?"

Good thing we don’t live in a democracy then, ain’t it?
And there were those who said the same thing about Franklin Delano Roosevelt. Fortunately those people were farsighted in their observation, not reactionary like Barnicle.
Just scrape him off the hull.
A question that is very much like, "Did aliens visit ancient Earth and help build the pyramids?"
Besides Mikey...The United States of America is NOT a democracy. So the obvious answer is, "I certainly hope so."
Barnicle suggests that President Trump represents a “clear and present danger.” Barnicle clearly has no clue as to the meaning of the phrase, since it relates to circumstances under which First Amendment freedoms can be restricted. It bears no relationship to the presidency.
Barnicle seemed to be desperately trying to make some provocative point. It’s time to put him out to pasture and replace him with a Trump-friendly conservative—something that would enliven a Morning Joe that has become boring and predictable.

Barnicle is sure enough a mindless filter feeder. Bottom feeder would actually be more accurate. This guy wouldn’t know a “clear and present danger to our democracy” if it burrowed up his behind.
Democrats, Bush League Republicans, the Deep State, the Ministry of Propaganda are all threats to the Republic.
They already put an illegitimate usurper in office for eight years.
Let’s hope so! As it currently exists “our democracy” deserves to die.

But there was a president who thought he was ‘the one’ but was actually a big zero ... now he was the best example I can recall who was a clear and present danger from the get-go.
And others besides him who are operating outside of their Constitutional duties certainly are as well. Some of the guilty have even said we should do away with that ‘outdated’ document!
