Retired SEAL: Nathan Phillips Not a Vietnam Vet – He Was a Mechanic Who Went AWOL THREE TIMES

He claimed he was a Recon Ranger — there is no such thing as a Marine Recon Ranger, Rangers are in the Army.

Retired US Navy SEAL Don Shipley, who is known for publicly outing people for ‘stolen valor,’ obtained Nathan Phillips’ DD-214 form and exposed the truth.

Nathan Phillips was enlisted under the name Nathaniel Richard Stanard.

“Nathaniel Phillips enlisted in the Marine Corps Reserves on May 20th, 1972 and served until May 5th, 1976,” Don Shipley said as he read the DD-214 form.

“He served under just four years and was discharged at the exalted rank of ‘Private'” Shipley said sarcastically.

Shipley continued, “His entire military education was as a basic electrician in the Marine Corps — while he served in Lincoln, Nebraska, he served as a refer mach.”

Nathan Phillips went AWOL THREE TIMES while he was stationed at El Toro Marine Base in Southern California, according to his DD-214 form.

I am not trashing reservists. Chief Lottabull enlisted as a USMCR as the VN War was ending. The Marine Reserves were never mobilized in spite of a full court press by the CMC to do so in 66-67. ‘Would send the wrong signal’ according to Robert Strange. He was big on games theory and ‘strategic signaling’. So this fellow went to basic and then to skill specific training as an electrician. I suspect that is what the UA at El Toro was about. It was a Marine Air Base and I suppose that is where he did his six months or so of specialist training. Then Lottabull went back home and one weekend a month he went to a reserve center for drill and each summer he went to a Marine base for two weeks where he did low grade electrical maintenance. Then he was discharged from the active reserve after about 31/2 years of drill status. He was a zero not to be promoted to at least PFC. Another pretend hero who turns out to be a BX commando.

Funny how liberals suddenly love the military when it suits their interests.

USMCR Freepers help?

His discharge. Was it or was it not honorable?

I suspect honorable as he went the full ride as a drilling reservist. I was in the USAF for four years and it seems to me I didn’t get a real honorable discharge from the inactive reserve to which I was transferred on separation from active duty status for about six years. I later worked with some former Navy officers who said once active duty ended they were transferred to inactive status with the Fleet Reserve and would be finally discharged at age 55. So what is the score?

Damn!! I felt good just getting through the submarine part of that. Dad was a paratrooper. He didn’t get to Korea, it ended about the time he was suppose to go. I didn’t get to Nam, I was on a boat in the Mediterranean when Saigon fell. If you were there in Nam god bless your service. I had to read the crap about it on our radio news printouts. A lot gave more than me, some gave all. All duty is tough, some is a hell of a lot tougher than others. God Bless our service men and women.

It’s funny you show your DD214 to a prospective employer and he says “we’ll you’re a Vietnam era vet”. Yeah but I was never there. Then he say”s it’s ok I don’t have anyone applying who has and I get credit for being pro veteran. You ask well what if one who was there shows up for the job, he then says we’ll work something out. It never happened. But it always made me nervous.

Those kids could have chosen to beat that insufferable Indian.

And if he had hit the kid with the drum I would be jumping right in, right then.

He did not.

So they did not.

What they chose to do instead was BTFO (Beat) the Chiefs of the Deep State that sent all those various asses there in the first place. They chose Lawfulness and Goodness as their tools for the job. They chanted their cheers.

They DID NOT let themselves get drawn into a fight with any of those Deep State Pawns, including that obnoxious insufferable anti American Indian.

They were bravely out there and engaged in the marketplace of face to face free speech, where such confrontations happen.

They had (adult?) Derpies all up in their face and they were armed only with lawfulness and goodness and MAGA hats.

They were not going to change the minds of any of the brownshirts there.

They DID, however, get the attention of a whole lot of folks who are just starting to pay attention. Minds that are much more likely to be positively swayed.

These children seem an almost Heaven sent example for an approach to use for Deep State Demolition when one is not actually forced into physical self defense.

Everyone can see it was an epic beatdown of a big lie in the end.

What some may not realize is that it was an epic beatdown of a far bigger lie instead.

THE Big Lie.

Don’t let our true enemy get away with making people think that this was just a victory over some obnoxious Derp anti American Indian that now looks like some obnoxious Derp Anti American Indian..

It was so much more.

Sure, it exposed all the lies about the MAGA kids as lies.

But while the largest hate group in the US may be liberal democrats, the most powerful hate group on the planet is the one that again and again sets up these situations and distractions to keep us fighting anyone but them.

This is the group who’s lie those MAGA kids beat down.

While the brownshirts are happy to be brownshirts, and are NOT innocent. They are just brownshirts.

Their job and joy is to get US to become violent and lawless like them. So far they are failing utterly at this.

Their job is also to make normal people afraid to walk outside anywhere they might be confronted by these types, or say what they think. (Or dare to wear a MAGA hat in public.) In this, they have greater success.

Haters are gonna hate.

I don’t want that Indian dead or harmed, or to even have his drum taken away. He may be an enemy, but he’s not my target.

He’s not a hill I’m going to chance giving the deep state ammo over. The kid handled it exactly right.

Same goes for the useful idiot Black Israelites.

The Deep State is setting up situations over and over and over again and they hope they can collect ammo to paint US as a hate group and eventually to drive our society towards the criminalization of Free Speech and thought. (and MAGA hats and guns.)

THIS is what was REALLY going on there.

This is what this victory was over.

So. Actual Deep State Power People are the enemy that I would rather fight and vanquish instead of letting the deep state distract me and pit me against their tiny groups of antifa, Anti-American Indians, degenerates in glowing new flavors, or other colorful SJW types over and over and over again, hoping *I* do or say something they can use for their evil ends.

All’s fair in love and war, but let’s not lose sight of who the real enemy generals are, and how they love to use hate. Our hate, the left’s hate. All hate. Used to keep the focus off those who’s interests it serves to keep the focus off them.

Those kids shamed powers and principalities with their example.

Not just some obnoxious anti-American Indian.

Yes, they did. I wonder how many people recognize that fact, and the full depth of it.

At the time your Navy officer work friends were correct. However, they changed the rules later and all naval officers reserve or otherwise who get passed over 3 times for promotion are now automatically discharged.

On my first command may CO automatically admin separated any sailor with 3 or more NJPs and requested an Other Than Honorable discharge be attributed. It’s not a BCD or DD but is still considered a black mark. I talked him down from doing this with one sailor who got drunk celebrating his last weekend before separation.

This guy likely made PFC at some point, since that is basically only a time in rate thing, so his last infraction was likely very close to his final discharge. I’m guessing they didn’t bother with the administrative paperwork since it was the 70s and they weren’t going to re-up him anyway. So it was likely an Honorable despite his NJPs.

Myself I left active after a little over 5 years, but still had a mandatory 3 years of inactive reserves...I started drilling again before that time was up, but it was too late and after a little over a year my last chance at 0-4 came and went before I could manage to accomplish anything to impress the promotion boards. It was less than 6 months before 9/11 which created a stop loss across the board.

There are times I deeply regret getting out and other times when I know I made the right choice.
