My brother enlisted in the U.S. Army. Ended up in the 25th Infantry Division in Cu Chi, Vietnam from '66-67. He was at times point man when they went on patrol. When I learned later what this entailed, I figured that it was something he'd have volunteered for. Growing up, all he had ever wanted to be was a soldier. Thankfully he made it back in one piece, but he died at the young age of 51.
Yep.
.
“Recon Ranger Marines.”
BRRooM ???
Can you say stolen valor? Lets see the DD214 and the records of his service. I think he is an under-the-bridge veteran. Thats the only kind he is.

The blog site “This Ain’t Hell” has a FOIA in on his DD214.
Going after Stolen Valor is one of their thangs.
ROFL!! They should both being doing time together. From what I understand Phillips is an alcoholic, and has been in jail several times. Next thing we’ll hear is that he’s trying to get his life together, but couldn’t because of those meddling kids.
Isn’t claiming to be an ex military member a violation of the law? If so, arrest this guy and put his ass behind bars.
Not many people know this. It’s a closely held secret in the Corps.
But a Recon Ranger Marine is someone specially trained to recon the firing ranges for spent brass between uses.
Gotta recycle and keep those costs down.
The Jane Fonda thing. I call excellent on that. Thanks.
Get old Nate to a dentist ASAP.Just damn!
You are correct, that was his goal. Sandmann handled it very well. Let the left keep radicalizing these young guys with stuff like this. It won’t end well for anybody.
I knew Don would get to the bottom of this.
While questioning his Vietnam veteran bona fides, I wonder about his Native American bona fides. Having grown up next to an Indian reservation (Shoshone-Bannock), Phillips is the first balding Native American I have ever seen.
I have a Nephew who was let out of the Army before his enlistment expired. He has been in trouble a lot since. He claims he got an honorable discharge.
His Grandpa my Father, asked to see his discharge papers but Teddy never showed it. I think we all knew it was probably drugs and no reason to embarrass him.
Still Daddy really was a combat veteran of WWII. He seems to be hard nosed about those who lie about their service. I guess he has that right.
My brother retired as a Force Recon Marine. I don’t think or know if they ever called themselves Recon Rangers. I kind of doubt it.
Is Phillips related to Fauxahontas?
Yeah, my brother went to several Army schools as a Force Recon Marine.
Native Americans (sic) should find this guy and teach him the meaning of honor.
“I want my scalps!”
[Don Shipley (former Navy Seal who busts guys for stolen valor) has a video on YouTube that says his real name is Nathan Stanard and served four years in Kansas, Nebraska and California - as a basic electrician. Went UA a few times as well and ended up as a private.]
Hehe busted. Awesome.
