RALEIGH, N.C. - Hyo Suk George lived legally in the United States for nearly 20 years before she voted in her first election, coaxed to cast her ballot by an enthusiastic town council member at church.
To register, she presented a green card, Social Security number and driver's license - proof enough for the elections officials in Columbus County - then voted in 2008, 2010 and 2016. But on Thursday, George, 70, faced charges of illegal voting from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, for which she might have spent six months in prison. Instead, U.S. District Court Judge Terrence Boyle chastised the elections board in Whiteville, letting George go with a $100 fine.
"So they see a green card and say, 'That's OK' because they don't know what they're doing," said Boyle, chief judge of the eastern district of North Carolina. "They ought to be a little smarter than that."

This story cannot be true because the democrats say no illegal votes are ever cast.
Democrats have non-citizens voting all over the country.
Sounds like the lady was counseled incorrectly, led to believe it was OK for her to vote by well-meaning (or not so well-meaning) neighbors.
They knew exactly what they were doing.
I fear for 2020 if something isn’t done about voter fraud. They practiced the “found ballot routine” and it worked for 2018.
Having been an election official for over twenty years, I can tell you that it would be a violation for me to ask the immigration status of a voter who is on the registration rolls.

As long as there are no real penalties for engaging in Voter Fraud (Treason, really) it will continue. I see NO evidence that anybody is willing to do anything about it.
If they do not know the law, fire them.

Ignorance of the law is no exception judge! The next time you are pulled over for a traffic violation, just tell the cop “ you didn’t know what you did was against the law!” (Which is most likely true) I’m sure he will close up his citation book, say he’s sorry he interfered with your day, and slink back to his car or motorcycle!
So when a foreign national votes in our elections, and disenfranchises citizens votes...a 100 dollar fine and a finger pointing is sufficient?
