The war over global warming has been going on for years, and has included some stunningly extreme suggestions, such as one U.N. official’s call for a new “ark” to save the world or another’s suggestion to dim the sun to alleviate the effects.
But now a report on the topic suggests a “rethinking” is needed.
That’s because it could be worse than thought, or not.
“The fact that our planet is getting warmer even though aerosols are cooling it down at higher rates than previously thought brings us to a Catch-22 situation: Global efforts to improve air quality by developing cleaner fuels and burning less coal could end up harming our planet by reducing the number of aerosols in the atmosphere, and by doing so, diminishing aerosols’ cooling ability to offset global warming.”

Reading past the headline will give me a headache.
What ever happened to aerosols creating a giant hole in the ozone over the South Pole that was going to suck all the oxygen off the earth and kill us all? Are they good now? I can't keep track.

I’m still trying to figure out how refrigerants, that are used in a closed and sealed system, also were responsible for the hoke in the the ozone layer?
On another note, as a former pipefitter/welder in the late 70’s to the mid 90’s, I was always proud of the fact that every time I struck an arc with my TIG torch, I was replenishing the ozone layer... even then I knew this crap was bunk.
This sounds like a justification for more geo-engineering (chemtrails) and Stratospheric Aerosol Injections.

Actually this makes sense. ‘AGW’ for what’s worth really started after we put scrubbers on power plants and closed some old ones down. As the skies got clearer the earth started to warm. How many of the crazy ideas to fight AGW center on putting something back into the air to block sunlight
