OUR COVENANT WITH GOD
Abram accepted the covenant God offered him, "I Am God Almighty; walk before me and be blameless. I will confirm my covenant between me and you and will greatly increase your numbers." Abram fell face-down, and God said to him, "As for me, this is my covenant with you: you will be the father of many nations. No longer will you be called Abram: your name will be Abraham, for I have made you a father of many nations." (Genesis 17:1-5).
Like Abraham, we also have a covenant with God; we are asked by God to "walk before Him" loving one another as He has loved us. When we are in covenant with God, we humbly submit ourselves, innocent from self-centered interest, to obey His commands to love our God with all of our being, and to love our neighbor as ourselves. Fulfilling the covenant with God, Abraham received the blessing of familial prosperity. God's desire is to grant prosperity to each of our lives. Are we faithful in our love of God and each other? "I VOW TO THEE, my country, all earthly things above, Entire and whole and perfect, the service of my love; The love that asks no question, the love that stands the test, That lays upon the altar the dearest and the best; The love that never falters, the love that pays the price, The love that makes undaunted the final sacrifice.
And there's another country, I've heard of long ago, Most dear to them that love her, most great to them that know; We may not count her armies, we may not see her King; Her fortress is a faithful heart, her pride is suffering; And soul by soul and silently her shining bounds increase, And her ways are ways of gentleness, and all her paths are peace."

GOD BLESS AND PROTECT OUR TROOPS AND OUR BELOVED NATION!
Amazing Grace (Click)
By John Newton
Amazing grace! How sweet the sound That saved a wretch like me! I once was lost, but now am found; Was blind, but now I see.
'Twas grace that taught my heart to fear, And grace my fears relieved; How precious did that grace appear The hour I first believed!
Through many dangers, toils and snares, I have already come; Tis grace hath brought me safe thus far, And grace will lead me home.
The Lord has promised good to me, His Word my hope secures; He will my Shield and Portion be, As long as life endures.
Yea, when this flesh and heart shall fail, And mortal life shall cease, I shall possess, within the veil, A life of joy and peace.
The earth shall soon dissolve like snow, The sun forbear to shine; But God, Who called me here below, Will be forever mine.
When weve been there ten thousand years, Bright shining as the sun, Weve no less days to sing Gods praise Than when wed first begun.

ND these things the word of the LORD came unto Abram in a vision, saying, Fear not, Abram: I am thy shield, and thy exceeding great reward.
2 And I will make my covenant between me and thee, and will multiply thee exceedingly. |
3 And Abram fell on his face: and God talked with him, saying,
4 As for me, behold, my covenant is with thee, and thou shalt be a father of many nations.
5 Neither shall thy name any more be called Abram, but thy name shall be Abraham; for a father of many nations have I made thee.
6 And I will make thee exceeding fruitful, and I will make nations of thee, and kings shall come out of thee.
7 And I will establish my covenant between me and thee and thy seed after thee in their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be a God unto thee, and to thy seed after thee.
8 And I will give unto thee, and to thy seed after thee, the land wherein thou art a stranger, all the land of Canaan, for an everlasting possession; and I will be their God.

Good evening, Mac...*HUGS*...and a Blessed Lord’s Day to you and yours.
How’s your weather? We are fogged in, at times, all over the city for 2 days now. I drove 5 miles to pick up a friend for lunch and passed through pea soup fog, light fog, sunshine, and more heavy fog.

We're having light rain - temps in high 30's. Looks like the brunt of the storm is passing to our north.

January 20 Where Are You Headed?
Where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord. Psalm 121:12 Today's Scripture & Insight:
What determines our direction in life? I once heard an answer to that question in a surprising place: a motorcycle training course. Some friends and I wanted to ride, so we took a class to learn how. Part of our training dealt with something called target fixation.
Eventually, our instructor said, youre going to face an unexpected obstacle. If you stare at itif you target fixateyoull steer right into it. But if you look above and past it to where you need to go, you can usually avoid it. Then he added, Where youre looking is the direction youre going to go.
That simple-but-profound principle applies to our spiritual lives too. When we target fixatefocusing on our problems or struggleswe almost automatically orient our lives around them.
However, Scripture encourages us to look past our problems to the One who can help us with them. In Psalm 121:1, we read, I lift up my eyes to the mountainswhere does my help come from? The psalm then answers: My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth. . . . The Lord will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore (vv. 2, 8).
Sometimes our obstacles can seem insurmountable. But God invites us to look to Him to help us see beyond our troubles instead of letting them dominate our perspective.
By Adam Holz
Today's Reflection
Father, help me not to target fixate, but to look to You whenever I face fearful obstacles as I seek to follow You along lifes road.

Howdy, PRO.
How was your day?
It’s been a wet one here but it was warm. Not now. The temperature is bottoming out and we’ll be in a deep freeze through Monday. :-(

Hey radu!
Fairly nice day here, cloudy but not too cold.
I did some misc. shopping and just hung out.
Son came over for dinner tonight and now he's doing homework and I'm watching a movie.
We'll play some video games later.
Good day all in all.

Howdy, Kathy.
Still stuck in fog, are you? Ugh.
I hope you and your friend had a grand time chatting over lunch, catching up on things. Did she have a big mess to deal with last month after the big quake?

Sounds like your day was a good one!
I woke up to the sound of rain pounding on the roof and it had already dumped about 2 inches by then. There was a brief break late in the afternoon, then a little more. Now we’re waiting for the third round and that one is snow. :-(

Good evening, radu, and a Blessed Lord’s Day to you and yours.
Dealing with rebooting because FR doesn’t like my computer again.
Yep, the fog is still here. Glad I’m in.
Had a great time at lunch today. We talked and talked and talked. She lives on the west side and they seemed to not have so many things jump off walls or drawers and cupboards open.
Any hopes of better weather for you any time soon?
